Bassist and (multi-instru)mentalist

About Me

Aside from banging a toy drum when I was a small boy, my first musical outlet was to start learning the trombone, aged 8. Over the next few years I also took lessons in piano and drums, before discovering rock music and the electric guitar as a teenager.

Thankfully before too long I then discovered funk music and decided that my new-found fret skills be better employed on the bass instead. Meanwhile my trombone ambitions had mutated into trumpet ones, and I had started experimenting with jazz.

After years hankering for a double bass I finally took the plunge and discovered I had best consolidate my bass technique to cope with the huge piece of wood under my fingers...

And so here we are. I still regularly touch base with my other old friends, but the basses are where my heart is...
