About Me

just a little bit of info about me-- those who may think my name is strange, its really a combo of my last name with the 'totem' animal i believe is mine. the wolf first appeared in my dreams around the age of 19 and it had great spiritual significance--and still does.
i subscribe to certain noble truths, namely: honesty--first and foremost, knowledge, honor, loyalty, courage, wisdom, strength (mental and physical) and love. i have found that few people that i meet care to share these truths, so in reality, i feel that i am in the minority. maybe these things are out-dated...but not for me...and not for the few that i CHOOSE to keep in my inner circle. I am not perfect, I subscribe to these truths, and while I may not always be successful, I try my damn hardest to do so. These are some of the values I live by.
i do not use the tags of friend or family lightly. if one is in my inner circle its for a reason. inner circle means that one is privy to some of my deep thoughts, opinions and the like. i do not have a shield like most, but i do not easily give away of myself. and i am of the belief...that if you show your emotions, it is the opposite of weakness. for its far harder to live in this messed up world, with your heart on your sleeve and still get up to live another day--to take another breath--and to keep fighting. i feel that this way is much harder than trying to cultivate a shield made of steel, trying to keep one's feelings in---and the feelings of others out. what happens when a wall crashes down? it crashes with a deadly sound--and rarely can be built up again. something always gets in ladies and gentlemen--always.
anyway...that is just a very very small portion about me. there would be too much to write and even more importantly...i grow, try my best to grow as an individual. so there is really always something to learn.

My Interests

*****OHGOSH, there are so many interests, that I can only put down so much....let's see where do I start? First off, MY MAIN INTEREST IS WRITING, then reading, listening to music, singing, spending time with my beautiful daughter, spending time with fam and friends, TRAVELING!!!, hiking, have a STRONG SPIRITUAL interest as well, learning new skills (I still don't know how to swim for goodness sakes!!), LEARNING LEARNING LEARNING about different subjects, different new interests, different countries, and different people. Am interested in HISTORY and SOCIETAL CHANGE(S), POLITICS, and current events. ANYTHING ARTISTIC, I LOVE "THE CREATIVE" SPIRIT and how its manifested in different forms.********

I'd like to meet:

[THOSE THAT ARE AWAKE. THOSE THAT HAVE AWAKENED. THOSE THAT WISH TO AWAKEN. THOSE THAT ARE FREE.]Honest, strong, humorous, courageous, unique people. People from all walks of life really. Down to earth, non-drama, people. People who mean what they say, and say what they mean. Spiritual persons, happy persons, moody persons, good persons, most of all intelligent, open-minded persons, sheep need not apply, likewise those that portray a fake persona to others, themselves, and liars of any kind are not the type of people I am interested in getting to know or meeting. These negative, duplicitous types are everywhere you look, so I'm not interested. I like to learn about other cultures, people from other countries, those of a different spiritual path and those even from my own backyard (meaning the East Coast of the US people!! Not the ghetto backyard in Brooklyn where I always hear the shots, though I'm sure I could learn something [like when to duck]!! ). ;)View All Friends | View Blog | View Pics | Add Comment

Music:

Anything from Linkin' Park, to Dixie Chicks, to Clannad, to composers like Basil Poledouris, to Mozart, to the music found in several car commericals (especially the ones in the rain! hahaha). I LOVE MUSIC period. Also listen to spanish rock, some indian music (love the sitar), some hip-hop (more often listen to the old school type than the "love them ho's" music of today), ROCK, movie soundtracks, did I mention rock? House, dance and techno are also some faves. Gregorian chants also, many different types of music, from different countries to those that have yet to be signed by a lecherous record label, trust me, I have spent much on iTunes!!

Movies:

Ok, here's the weird part, I love to watch movies, but I don't often go to the movies. I don't know...something about people yakking it up and throwing popcorn in my general direction that, that just....doesn't do it for me...ya' know? All kinds of movies, romantic (like Bridget Jones), heroic (like Conan the Barbarian, Gladiator), action (like Ronin!!), to subtitles (like Amelie, Ma Vie en Rose), entertainment (Austin Powers) to extreme B-movies (like The Apple), drama (like Shawshank Redemption, Angels in America [yes I am aware that the latter was a HBO mini-series, but I love it].

Television:

Since I pay good money for cable, I rarely, if ever, watch regular TV. Having said that, HBO/SHOWTIME boxing are MY FAVES!! Also love the entire Sex and the City series. Law and Order SVU (on TNT not NBC), Discovery Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet, Science Channel, PBS (and yes I watch even during their Pledge drives, oy!!), LOGO channel (oh yea!), and a host of others. My favorite show of all time....? Golden Girls on Lifetime...something about those old ladies.....woooo!

Books:

I am a member of over five different books clubs. There are books all over my house, in almost every corner, books that I have read, and books that I yet have to read. I read almost any genre. One special mention has to be the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton!! YOU HAVE GOT TO READ IT. Also books by Scott Cunningham (those that know the name know what I'm talking about then..), sci-fi, action, horror, mystery, lots of non-fiction books, fiction, new age, classics, history, psychology, erotic novels. I JUST WANT TO READ READ AND READ. Books, books and mo'books!!!

Heroes:

My mother and father. Love them to death! They have always been there for me in ways that I cannot being to describe, in ways that the words 'thank you' can never be enough. They have been my pillars for many things. My 'husband' for allowing me a glimpse into his beautiful soul and his incredible compassion. My best friend for being such an ally during theeee worst times in my life. My daughter---because she is my one and only true sunshine.
