DJ Ven (Techno)
In the early days of house music, when house music was on the verge of becoming bigger, DJ Ven (a.k.a. Ronald Mannes) already spinned the weels of steel. After playing on several parties in the Nothern part of The Netherlands he decided it was time for a different house concept. He began organising several techno and tech-trance parties. They were a big succes .So he and a good friend started an event organisation called Trinity in technoland. Also the trinity parties turned out to be a big hit, so it did not take long before the first outdoor version of Trinity in technoland was born. Those events presented the opportunity to perform as well , which resulted in even more bookings at Planet Rose, Illegal Vibes Outdoor, Above and Beyond, Technology, Going Somewhere, The Groove, De Bunker, De Kelder, Ravers Religion, Cachet, Technotica, Technootjes, Instant Techno, Superstarfeesten, Cyberzone, La Rocka, Megadance, King of the undergrond, Nachtwerk, Tomorrow, Technoise, Medusa, Iduna, Bang, Funny Farm, Fun Factory, Mushroom, Pressure, Simsalabim (Simplon), The Groove, Multi Peace and many more. Meanwhile, the list of artists he played with is getting longer and longer: Marco Bailey, Ben Sims, Frank Lorber, D.Diggler, J.W Jorg Henze, Zzino, Johan Bacto, Davide Souillace, Fabio Paras, Reinhard Voigt, Luciano, Jel Ford, and Michael Burkat. But he also played with a lot of Dutch DJs like: Michel de Hey, Secret Cinema, Dimitri, Estroe, Carlijn, Shinedoe, Bas and Ram, Spider Willem, JP, Misjah, Lady Aida, Marco V, Dano, Gizmo, Buzz Fuzz, The Prophet, Eric de Man and Benjamin Bates. His style can be defined as Techno/Tech-House/House Classics/Hard-Techno/Schranz. Like no other DJ Ven can feel and plays what the crowd wants or needs. I’m not playing for me, I want to play for the people. That’s my objective! Ven says.
DJ Pim (Psychedelic Trance)
Dj Pim (born 1976) is part of the Dutch section of SICK Records. He started to play psytrance in 1999, just after he went to the VooV festival in Germany for the first time. There he got infected with the "virus" also known as "Psychedelic Trance". At first he played vinyl sets only, but 2 years later he switched over to cd's. After playing in- and outside the Netherlands, together with artists like Amadetzana, Xerox vs Illumination, Rastaliens, Dj Junya (aka Eskimo), Cyrus the Virus, Keltik, Mumbo Jumbo and some more, Pim is now known for his groovy, melodic but full on stomping sets which will rock every dancefloor. Also Dj Pim is a major contributor to the local psychedelic scene with parties like "Missing Moon" and "Psychoactive Industries". In 2005, Dj Pim is proud to join the new SICK Records label, homebased in Mexico where he did a small tour in september. For more inforation, also take a look on http://www.sickrecords.org
DJ Ryuji Takeuchi (Techno)
Ryuji Takeuchi was born in Osaka (Japan), and then first contacted with electronic music in the early 90s. In the late 90s, he moved to the United States, where he started to spin at parties with his friends. At that time, he played across techno, electro and house music no matter how he wanted.
As soon as he got back he obtained 2 turntables and a mixer. He was able to check out a lot of records for inspirations. In that moment, he was interested in various styles of music, even including deep house, jazz and ambient.
After that, he got a sampler and sequencer to start his career as a producer, eventually learned programming and editting. That was the time when he unconsciously established his studio skills to transform plenty of ideas to evil productions.
Then he has recently founded his own imprint, “local sound network†on which he intends to introduce talented producers from local to global. Through all the experiences, he’s still looking for a way to inspire the world....
DJ The Futurist (Techno)
Henry Boer aka The Futurist was born in Brazil and raised in The Netherlands. In 1998 he got infected with the techno virus by big names like The Advent, Cari Lekebusch and Adam Beyer. This addiction to techno made him also buy records and spinning records on the decks. In his sets he uses 3 decks and FX and they’re deep and hard but most of all very energetic. The Futurist is inspired by techno heroes such as James Ruskin, Surgeon, Grovskopa, Reeko, Sebastian Kramer and many others. The main ingredients for his dj sets are heavy machine driven beats, razor sharp hihats and shakers. In other words this is the perfect formula to get every technofreak going crazy. The Futurist is also very busy with producing own techno tracks since 1997. In 2003 he reached the second place of the yearly national producer contest (region final). With software programs as Ableton, Cubase and Reason he knows how to get the most amazing offbeat, hardtechno and industrial techno sounds out of his speaker system. The tracks he produces are heavily inspired by artists like The Advent, Grovskopa, Christian Wunsch, Sebastian Kramer and Tomash Gee. They’re containing dark and frightening ambient soundscapes, pounding beats and razor sharp hihats. At the end of 2007 he will introduce his Malfuntion live p.a. to The Netherlands and ofcourse to the rest of the world.
DJane Lady Jack-a-Line (Techno)
Jacqueline Hof aka Lady Jack-a-Line was born at 17th of April 1982 in the north of Holland. At the age of 19 she experienced her first technoparty and immediately fell in love with the acid and techno sound. After a few years of partying she got interested in spinning records behind the decks herself.
The sets of Lady Jack-a-Line are containing tracks from global heroes like: Robert Armani, Woody McBride / DJ ESP, Damon Wild, Hardfloor, Acid Junkies, 2 Junxion, Sorgenkint, Dave Clarke, Steve Stoll, Roland Casper and many others. A couple of her favorite labels are: Missile, Acid Tracks, Synewave, Bush and Djax-up Beats. The styles she plays are Acid, Acidtechno and Chicago Techno with Oldschool influences.
At the end of 2006 she started co-producing own tracks with her producer buddy Malfunction aka The Futurist, who is busy with studio productions for quite some years now. Their tracks are already played by 2 Junxion at well known party’s like Acid Wars in Germany. In the future they will produce more tracks but you will hear also solo tracks from Lady Jack-a-Line.
DJ UFD1 (Electronic)
DJ UFD1 (underestimated from day one) has been spinning records since the early nineties.
Going by the name of DJ Luca he made his entry on local underground parties in the northern part of the Netherlands, where he was able to lay the fundaments of his dj career.
As well as being initiator, as being resident dj of the well known Trinity in Technoland parties, he was able to share his passion with a growing amount of audience, and with the developing of his typical solid-state techno style and fast and smooth mixing skills, he soon became one of north Holland’s most-wanted dj’s, and shared the decks with many, many national- and international established colleagues.
After about twelve years of performing as a techno-dj, he decided it was time for a change in his musical life, and switched his dj-career for a course of Sound Engineer at the Sound Academy in Hilversum, in order to start up a recording studio alongside his participation in a rental- and trade store for professional audio equipment.
Within his profession as a recording engineer he is now cooperating with a variety of artists in different styles of music, but has never lost his passion for electronic dance-music, and has kept collecting and investing in dance-music ever since. Not surprisingly it was just a matter of time to see the man back behind the decks again.
Performing as DJ UFD1 he’s back in the scene now with a more eclectic approach of electronic music, and with a wide variety of high-quality techno, electro and minimal, he’s even more capable of surprising and captivating his audience than ever before..
