About Me

Paul Hurst (Tau Margin) and Chris Hall (Aural Perception) met on a Performing Arts course at Newcastle College in 1992. They have been making music together ever since and have recently joined forces to form Sniffa Dog. We are currently working on a number of projects including a interactive website. - we'll keep you posted on that one.We both started getting into electronic music in the acid house era listening to the likes of Jolly Rogers acid man and Robert Owens-Armageddon etc. Paul was going to the Butterloggies in Middlesbrough and was deeply into the rave scene at that time and later found out Chris was doing the same. Then the Newcastle club scene boomed and we were both clubbing in Walkers and Determination Inc which played the best tunes in toon, anything from the Hacienda to Detroit techno. We were both blown away by some of the dance music coming from the states at that time. (Derek may-Strings of life, Reese and Santonio-Rock to the beat..). . Thats not to say there wasnt some belting tunes coming out from the Uk though. 808 States In your face and Cubic are up there with the best and LFOs 1st album. Unknown to each other we were both at the rezerections in Newcastle when the rave scene hit (LFO, Enjoi, KKlass, KLF, Ragga Twins.) ah! the good old days.Paul started out with a DX11 and a Boss drum machine making tunes that sounded somewhere between Snappyness and N-Joi (I thought it sounded great!). Chris was making tracks on his fathers Technics home keyboard which to me sounded like some wasps in an arpeggiator sniffing solvents. So I guess the music what we make now would be sort of post acid/rave avant garde cheesey wasps on solvents.???Hoy yer pics and vids on here! and use these instructions for:
