“From musicality to hair gel, we can’t make you a rockstar, but we can get you to look and feel like one!”HAIRROXX evolved from Scott and Angel’s love of music. Scott was a well-known and early MTV acclaimed drummer, when his life took a different turn. After years of working with many local bands, Scott started following his mother’s career in hair design. After graduating from school, he went on to study colour with Graham Webb in London, England in the following year. Scott began competing and winning several awards in Advanced Hair Cutting. With his award-winning background, he began Platform work with Matrix in the late eighties.In 1989, Scott married Angel Dowers, who completed Cosmetology school the prior year. Together, they opened two successful salons in Indiana. They also began working directly with Irving and Louise Rusk as RUSK platform artists. Angel and Scott also joined forces with Marshall Salon Services Pro Center the following year, continuing their Platform work.With a combined flare of color expertise, teaching knowledge and love of music, Scott and Angel spent years working with musicians and venues for their shows and videos. They have been on-staff stylists for several Broadway shows at the Assembly Hall in Champaign, IL., award-winning pop stars of the eighties (i.e. The Go-Go’s), and country stars, including Pam Tillis.Scott and Angel have worked exclusively with Chicago rockers “Kill Hannah” (www.Killhannah.com) from the beginning of their album carerers to the music videos and photo shoots that have followed (including 2 appearances on the Carson Daly Show). Due to Scott’s musical prowess, they not only offer image, hair and make-up for bands they believe in, Scott has the unique perspective of musicality, production and management.Other bands/artists they have been instrumental, no pun intended, in helping, styling and aiding in pre/post-production management: Marazene (www.marazene.com), Subsonic (www.subsonicrocks.com), Van Gunn (www.vangunn.com), Jared Yates (http://www.myspace.com/vybemusic), Butch Walker, rocket girl, Kay Hanley ( letters to celo and hannah montana), Candise Accola ( solo artist, hannah momtana), Jamie Arentzen ( american hi-fi, hannah montana), Stacie Jomes ( american hi-fi, hannah montana), Mike Schmid ( solo artist, hannah montana), Verona Grove ( www.myspace.com/veronagrove) and many others.Together, their achievements have continued both in the cosmetology business and in the music industry. With over forty years experience between the two stylists, they continue to stay on top of all the trends in hair, make-up, and styling.
