The Dirty Club was formed shortly before 2000 to perform songs by guitarrist and composer Esteba Saguer (Bambino). A personal, melacolic and acustic repertoire that was soon enriched with Zesar Martinez, base, piano and chorus and Francesc Sotillos (Cheka), drums, percusion and chorus...Together they started working on the song arrangements and at the end of '99 they recorded their first demo with six themes, called Seasons. This allowed them to find gigs where they were able to showcase their particular style and it gave the band a platform from which to carry on composing new songs. In a very laid back way and with no apparent ambition, as the band members were part of other more lucrative groups, the threesome was happy during those initial years to play a limited amount of gigs... with time, and after the recording of the second demo of six themes at the end of 2002, titled Unkown, the need to record their work on a more serious format grew.The band continued to perform live and considered different possiblities of how to record their first album, and in December 2005 they decided to record themselves in the Locomotora studio under the direction of Zesar, who was in charge of production. It didn't happen fast and was quite different to their previous recordings, that didn't take longer than three days. The production of each song was detailed and enriched with instruments that don't appear in their performances, such as organs, pianos, percussions and additional guitars. Finally, in Janurary 2007, Short and Simple was born, edited by PAE (Plataforma de Autoeditores)... Mixed and mastered by Carles Xirgo of the Girona 44.1 recording studios, the design was done by Brow de Peix and the photography by Laura Justicia.Short and Simple, brings together 11 themes of a personal character, that are in no rush to develop. Melodies that transform themselves throughout each song towards bursts of melancholy, more visceral moments or that just remain simple in search of beauty. Inspired in an urban environment, in the chaos of a big city, the songs try to make sense of the emotions that arise in this habitat; love, deception, anonimity, injustice, double standards, happiness and sadness, as well as the escape from this environment are the themes of the lyrics, written under a red light.....
