I am a 14 year old boy imprisoned in the body of a 40 year old man.
My mission: To make people dream and smile...
Arturo Brachetti was born in Turin, in Italy, the town considered one of the three magical points in Europe (Turin, Lyon, Prague).
While in seminary at the age of 15, he created and performed his first quick-change act. This led him to the rediscovery of the art of quick-change, which began disappearing after the death of Leopoldo Fregoli (1867 - 1936) one of the greatest quick-change artist in history.
Arturo began with only a suitcase, six quick-change costumes and one act. He is now an actor, one of Italy's hottest directors, quick-change comedian, and magician. He now owns more that 350 costumes and still counting.
Arturo is considered the greatest "quick-change actor" in the world incorporating acting, magic, singing and dancing into his performances thus creating complete character interpretations with each transformation.
At present, his new one-man-show, The Man With a Thousand Faces (year 2000 winner of both the French and Canadian Tony Awards, the Moliere Award and the Olivier Award, respectively) is on world tour since 1999. This show so far has sold more than 1.500.000 tickets in Europe, Canada and Usa.
Arturo has directed various productions in Italy and Germany.
His recent works in 2006, all box office smashes in Italy include stage and screen version of "Anplagghed" with three of Italy's most well know comedians Aldo , Giovanni and Giacomo. He is artistic director of both the new musical version Peter Pan and the famed Italy comedian Enico Montesano.
