Consolation Prizefighter

Tea-core for you, and you. . .NOW with added HORNS

About Me

"IT STARTED ON A WHIM AND BECAME A BAND."
Consolation Prizefighter came together out of a mutual appreciation of having an open mind & a willingness to push ourselves to do things we haven’t done before. We don’t boast of writing and playing anything that will invent a 'CRAZY MUST HAVE SCENE!' and change the world of music, but we like to feel we create 'good music' and enjoy slicing together a mish-mash of styles into one song or piece of music. We became a full band when Al returned from working in London and the much-needed low-end was competently filled with a bass & friendly face. With the wheels well-oiled Consolation Prizefighter had their first gig half way through 2005 and have gone on to play many self booked and organised gigs around the country. With not only the seven track mini album ‘Clemency’ on sale and selling at gigs now, CPf are currently recording their first full-length album entitled 'Share Music' at Plymouth Musicians Cooperative (PMC) now & which will feature a version of "THE MAMMOTH". All three members have been involved in making music in and around Plymouth for a few years now, Neil and Al played together in Mr Pound, a punk/rock quartet which also featured Jon Cooper who has gone on to play guitar in The Bedroom Project and Foz who now plays drums for Grifter. Neil also played guitar in The Once Over Twice and Marc has played drums in many bands including most notably 24/7 City Blueprint and Full Speed Alone, but the trio collectively concur that Consolation Prizefighter is becoming their most accomplished work to date and as a promise, attend to pushing their boundaries as far as their instruments and talents will permit, for as long as they have good health, a hale and hearty passion and a want to play/write music together. If you would like to book us, we're pretty much up for playing anywhere ie sheds, kitchens, basements! Would be very much appreciated. Just shout us some diesel money. e mail: [email protected] can send £4 to 170 Billacombe Rd, Plymouth, PL9 7EL for a copy of our seven track CD 'Clemency'.
