About Me

Side of Fives is a St. Louis area rock band with origins dating back to 1999. Sam Goodman (vocals), Jared Gleason (lead guitar), and Sean Jackson (rhythm guitar) played together in The Influence and also attended Southeast Missouri State University together. ---- In the fall of 2001, Goodman, Gleason, and Jackson formed up with Chris Doherty (bass) and John Manley (Drums) and formed the band Side of Fives. The band soon cut a demo at Jupiter Studios in St. Louis and then left for a road trip to Cleveland for a twin towers benefit show. The show was lackluster at best; but the band had a great time in Cleveland, meeting interesting taxi drivers and going to the Circus.---- Side of Fives rambled on through late 2005, playing a ton of shows and hearing a lot of great bands. In September 2005, Chris Doherty left the band in order to live his dream of residing in St. Thomas. You go dude!!! At the top of a short list of names was Jason Cole (formerly of Darkwater) who filled the spot and began to breathe new life into the band. Jason also plays bass for Lithiuma tribute to Nirvana and sings lead for Three Times Fast, a St. Louis cover band.---- In late October of 2005, the band parted ways with drummer John Manley. Jason Cole's cousin Josh Hendrix had just moved to the St. Louis area from Florida. Only one audition was needed. With a new rhythm section in place, the band was ready to go. Cole and Hendrix changed the sound, timing, and vibe of several old songs giving them new life, and within two weeks the band was even writing new material. Since the induction of Hendrix and Cole, Side of Fives has performed at several of the premier venues in the St. Louis area and has already been showcased on WVRVs, The River, Homegrown Show and KPNTs Local Show. They are currently working on a new single, which should be available in the summer of 2006. Check your local listings or go to www.sideoffives.com for more information on where you can catch the next Side of Fives performance.
