It's a long story. Back in 1991(?), Tony was playing drums in a band called Five Easy Pieces . (Tony's the long-haired dude.) That band traveled out to Jon's studio to record a demo on his reel-to-reel eight track. Years later, Tony would return to record in Chair, then again in Federal Weights and Measures and Man Afraid.
Move forward ten years to 2001 and Tony was just getting together with Nick , Joshua and Todd "Truck" Holdman to form Anchorhead .
In 2003, Jeff joined Anchorhead on pedal steel and guitar. In the summer of 2006, Anchorhead disbanded when Todd moved to Fargo, ND.
In the fall of 2006, Jeff, Jon, Nick and Tony all got together for the first time. In January 2007, recording began.
In the spring of 2007, Beth Pyper-Holz from The Birdy Four joined the band.
