Metapsychic Records

Metapsychic Records was created last Autumn of 2006 by Filipe Santos AKA "Lost Buddha" a goa-trance producer and "Cosmogenesis" an extreme goa lover. This project was born because of a simple observation: the Golden Goa Era where the goa trance genre was very popular among the psytrance scene doesn't exist anymore, and the goa music itself is dying little by little and has almost dissapeared the last years. The labels which still release this kind of sound are more and more rare nowadays. Suntrip, Tranceform, Unicorn, Kadgila, Tamil and Shivlink records are among the last labels to still release partially or exclusively goa music and trying to keep the spirit alive.

In the meantime, the paradox is that the number of artists who are producing goa trance remains still important today and doesn't stop growing. Most of them are unknown or already known through different artists communities or iniatives, where they present their works and offer them for free. But because of the lack of labels who still want to release this genre of music, those artists can't release "professionally" their productions and, therefore, expose and promote them for a bigger audience.

Lost buddha & Cosmogenesis spoke together about this sad situation and decided then to build this iniative, in order to give a hand to the goa community, creating a home for all those artists, giving the help necessary to surround them in a more professional environnement.

Besides that, Filipe, tired of being rejected himself by some labels, wanted to release other artists on his own taste and decisions. Quickly, Martin "Octodur", a famous sweden party organizer and member of Hypnotica records, joined the team to bring his contribution, help and experience as future sales manager. Bruno "Astrancer" and Kenneth Abildgaard from the mythic group project "Colorbox" became respectively our official artwork designer and master engineer. Other friends and relations of the team, particularily already well-known goa artists (among them "Ethereal" from Tranceform Records), Dj's and professionals around the world are also part of the project, bringing to us and all the artists a precious and generous contribution.

The result is a total net-label with the purpose to release only pure and spiritual goa-trance music in our new space age. We only seek for talented artists with true love for music and art.
