Profile modified by: The CricketSoda Myspace Profile Editor Not only are we the founders of The Viodre, we're also clients. Bryan Gilroy ( aka John Vibg), CEO, The Viodre:When I started The Viodre, my only interest was to make records and plan performances that were tailored to creating a response in the dysfunctional, middle-class, intelligent suburban male. Back in the mid-to-late nineties, this demographic practically defined the listening-base of the American noise community, and shy, bright, and angry guys like us had found the perfect platform by which we could make a name for ourselves, while also finding the perfect friends and collaborators we'd been too unsociable to seek out on our own.As you know, it worked. We've traveled to the far reaches of America, and some other countries, spreading the Bad News and finding inspiration in all facets and corners the noise scene had to give us.But the problem was soon evident, and eventually brought us to the verge of self-destruction: It wasn't enough to be in the company of outcasts and culturally-sick artists such as ourselves. In a group, we found no solution. The more we kept at it, the greater was our number -- but greater also were the same problems that brought about our formation. The Viodre's inner network was 200 and counting three months ago -- more than I'd ever imagined at our outset. But we had accomplished nothing outside of creating new recordings and performing at new events (and the crisis we faced was evident in our shows, above all -- the records could be delayed, but the live performances couldn't hide our dissatisfaction in our mission). More than anyone else, I'd had this responsibility on my shoulders, and I fell more deeply into alcohol and drugs. When was the last Viodre performance where I was sober and in control of myself? It's time for some cleaning-up and new attentiveness to our focus. The Viodre Group decided that if we had to expand in order to better meet our aims, Blue Collar Magick would be the perfect venture to compliment our already-established efforts in audio recordings and live performances. The Blue Collar Magick texts are our effort to give men like ourselves an insight into the courses we've taken in order to better implement ourselves into the promising but alienating world of American Society and Business while still retaining our identities and sense-of-purpose.I'm excited about this new venture: two years after The Viodre Group was established, I came to the realization that the betterment and fulfillment of the most intelligent men in our generation would not come into play if we fought the system -- instead, we had to integrate ourselves into it, with clear intent and a goodwill for our fellow citizens.I truly believe that the establishment of The VIodre Group's "Blue Collar Magick" venture, as well as it's core values' recognition in our recorded and performance efforts, will join our original intent with the necessary actions demanded of our environment, and help us accomplish our true and only goal: the acceptance of the dysfunctional, middle-class, and intelligent suburban male into the mainstream, and the appreciation for his unique, powerful ideas and intentions for future generations.Sincerely, Bryan Gilroy - The Viodre.

Sounds Like: At its outset, all Viodre work was based around the themes of egotism, violence, and domination. Like a drug-induced high or state of intoxication, the group found power and motivation in its focus until the nature of the negative state destroyed itself, and the group fell into a state of disarray and dysfunction. Where do we go from here? Vibg has been exploring his own theories on the connection between the past and current intents of the Viodre, and the effects of routine and ritual, while other members are going through similar periods of transition (concentrating on issues such as identity, artistic focus, self-discipline, responsibility, etc). The consensus so far has been equal parts promising and troublesome. As all of us become more mature, we see both the errors in our previous actions, and the sacrifices we must make in order to bring about a successful end to our attempts over the long run.Our patrons will find that our works will not suffer, but improve. We've been through the most painful and trying struggles of moving our focus from the uncertain peculiarities of the youthful mind to the more cutting and resourceful approaches of the wise outsider. The message is no longer just in the details, but in the structure. This is the second stage of the journey we've always perceived: young and cocky as we were, we weren't familiar with the struggles of ascension.Stay tuned.
