Although this might seem like a typical profile, I'm not a typical girl. Since I was very young I've been a bit of a tomboy, a fact that's still evident in my rough-and-tumble play. Or maybe that's because I hang around lots of male friends? Despite the masculine influence, I'm very much a "girlie-girl" and I love romantic stories and getting dressed up. I'm not usually one for going out much, mostly because I don't have a lot of money to spend, but I do enjoy sitting at home and hanging out. I'm a big fan of the horror genre even though I'm a large wuss, and there's nothing better than the old '80s flicks. I'm very open about the things I like, thus my list of non-preferentials is rather small (being spy/espionage movies, rap/hip hop, Latin, jazz, and deathmetal). I'm also a huge Batman freak and own pretty much all the movies and the Animated Series sets. I also have a small collection of anime which I'm working on expanding (mainly 'Fullmetal Alchemist' and 'Cowboy Bebop').
Even though I've tried videogaming, I'm not hardcore in any sense of the word. Like most interests in my life, it comes and goes on a whim: I have developed a taste for RPGs, and some fighting, racing, and simulation games. I managed to buy myself a Nintendo DS (my first Nintendo product as I'm a Sega/Sony girl) and discovered the glories of MarioKart. I'm also a novice Magic: The Gathering player. I come from a family of readers even though they've mutated into heavy gamers, and adore the Fantasy setting. Raymond E. Feist is my favorite author and I'm currently learning to appreciate the works of Anne McCaffrey. Don't be fooled, my repertoire is much larger than this. I've got a rather large amount of Manga hiding in my bookshelves as well as classics like "The Count of Monte Cristo" and "Cyrano de Bergerac".
I'm not much for the party scene; I don't really care for the atmosphere. Drinking makes me uncomfortable since no one does it in my house - probably because alcoholism runs in the family. I'm also not big on smoking or drugs: if you've ever done them, you might as well not bother talking to me as my detestation for things of that sort is nearing intolerence. I'm not a major health freak or anything; I've got a rather obnoxious sweet-tooth and I'm a moderate-soda drinker, but I do eat my vegetables. I love being a cheap date and I hate it when people I don't know well buy me things. Guilt and whatnot. Even as a girlfriend I detested getting jewelry - it's a copout gift; it says "Um, here's something typical because I couldn't think of what to get you." I'd be much more appreciative of a $5 rabbit plushie than a $50 pair of earrings. People like me are rare, I know.
Most of my friends tell me that I'm a good listener and that I'm very caring, which is good because I try to be. I know what it's like to have a bad day and want to talk about it. I'm going more on how I feel around someone (comfort level, etc), but if I had to name qualities, I'd pick longevity, sentimentality, and a bit of realism. I've learned that finding someone "perfect" is unrealistic - it's the character flaws in a person that make them who they are. I know that I myself am not perfect: I can be loud and obnoxious as well as both lewd and obscene at times. But I know when to control myself and, if given the chance, could be quite the fun person. So if you think you're up to the challenge, paddle your lilly pad over toward this princess. o^_^o
