About Me

I have been compared to Annie Leibovitz -- if Annie "drank Jack Daniels and had red hair." The Leibovitz comparison may be too a bold statement, but Jack Daniels and red hair are spot on. That's not to say my work is mediocre. My work is damn good, but more importantly, my clients and I have a great time getting the shot.
My work has ranged from shooting live rock concerts to press kit style photos for bands and artists, and even artsy photos of people's pets. I've been known to shoot sexy photos of couples in their own homes and some far out shots of girls with way too much hairspray and makeup just for fun. If it's rockin, funky, or sexy, it's probably something I would love to photograph. Classic headshots are not my style; I'm more interested in showing different elements of people in my photos. I find many photographs nice, but boring. My goal is to never let my work become "nice."
A typical session with me involves a consultation first. We sit down with a glass of red (or Jack if you prefer) and talk about what attitude you would like in the photos. The details of locations, (your place, a street corner in East Nashville, the roof of a parking garage, etc.) hair, makeup (if any)... those details fall into place upon discussing the overall "look" we are searching for. If you decide I'm the photographer for what you want, we set a date and go from there.
I have lighting/stands/umbrellas, backdrops, and anything else we might need for the best photo shoot. My equipment (including lighting) can travel with me to other locations.
When we are ready to start shooting, we turn on some music and if you like, grab another glass of wine, and go for it. The typical shoot lasts about three hours and yields between 100-250 photos. This is the part that my clients love... a relaxed, fun atmosphere that has both the subject and photographer working together comfortably, laughing and feeling sexy. The photos turn out great, but the experience itself is one to never forget.
After the shoot, I review the photos and create a disc for you to keep. Within a week the disc will be ready for you to pick up. The photos are yours to use.
