Hailing from the rural vault of Pottstown, PA, is a sludgy, metal five-piece hell-bent on creating blistering rock full of guitar crunch, vocals strains, and double kick drum action – the band is called C.I.C.A.D.A. (which stands for Chaotic Impulse Centered Around Distorted Audio). And, unlike the annoying 7-year insect that plagues farmers and our ears, this band creates a mix of loud rock n’ roll with some pop sensibility.
The catchy bits that are sprinkled into the distorted slew of sonic sludge create gems of melody amidst a vast ocean of Tool-like metal. The band has the chops, the singer’s got the throat, and the drummer has got the double kick on lock down – what else can you ask for in a hard rock and metal band?
