About Me

Non-dogmatic misanthropic libertarian cynic. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I think it boils down to being less inclined to shout "Smash the state!" and more inclined to shrugging "ehhh, fuck 'em."

I grew up in Brick City (that's Newark to the uninitiated) surrounded by mobsters and wanna be mobsters, only to end up a nerdish business journalist who writes about politics and the insurance industry. So, not too far off from my roots, ultimately.

I've lived many places (Palo Alto, Oakland, Syracuse, West Palm Beach, the Jersey Shore, now Northern Va. and our nation's capital) and travelled pretty far and wide, but I usually end up back where I started.
