Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see. - Arthur Schopen

About Me

While there's a lot to know about me- I'm a pretty fantastic guy- I collect and use pocket knives, and I've even tried my hand at photographing them. Here's a sample, just to show you I have a tiny smidge of artistic skill:
A llama once bit my sister!
What? Ya want a dissertation? I like the finer things in life- women, wine, music, beer, and fun. I choose quality over quantity. I value honesty and integrity above all else. I love my friends and my family, and do the best I can to do the right thing. I find humor nearly everywhere, and a sense of humor is mandatory in all my acquaintances. This is why I rarely get along with repugnicans. I talk a lot- sometimes too much, but that means I attract the really hot, hot girls who are naturally attracted to my deep, resonant, and comforting voice. I love learning, helping others learn, and I have a somewhat unnatural relationship with technology in general, and computers in particular.
Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence. - Robert Frost

My Interests

Have I really had a Myspace page up without listing stuff like Counter Strike: Source and Tomb Raider? Half-Life 2. Civilization II, Command and Conquer, Total Annihilation, Bioshock... I love the really good games.

Wine. Beer. Guiness. Women. Friends. Good times. Books, computers, poetry, music, art, sex, coffee, movies and home theater. I've spent a LOT of time examining "the human condition." Turns out, I'm in one.

Somewhere in here I should mention that I collect, review, play with, and sharpen knives. I love them. You should too.
Bas Ale.

I'd also like it if all people enrolled as "republican" could be sterilized, in the hopes that their poor judgment or lack of social responsibility won't be passed on to other generations.

I'd like to meet:

At the age of eleven or thereabouts women acquire a poise and an ability to handle difficult situations which a man, if he is lucky, manages to achieve somewhere in the later seventies. - PG Wodehouse
Also, if you're going to add me and I have no idea who you are, could you maybe send me a message telling me why you wanna add me? Do you like my writing? Do you think I'm a movie star? (its a secret!) It just seems weird to me to click on an "add friends" button without any kind of connection or introduction. Know what I mean?
I'd love to meet Penn Gillette... again. One day 500 years ago I was on a date, and Penn was seated at a nearby table. I love the guy, and was about to... you know, start screaming "OH MY GOD PENN GILLETTE I LOVE YOU!!!" Our eyes were locked and he knew what was about to happen, and I saw him cringe- so I refrained. Hell, we were both on dates, so let's enjoy the people we were with, yeah?
I'd like to meet Jimmy Page, Harlan Ellison, JMS, Gwen Stefani, Dylan Moran, Eddie Izzard, and any female porn stars too.

Music:

I like a lot of stuff. Older stuff- progressive. And I'm just getting (back?) into ska. For the record, no one (and I mean NO ONE) has a better sense of the pulse of music than Jackie, who gets me into all the newest, bestest stuff.
But lets start with...
King Crimson, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Pink FLoyd, Jethro Tull, Traffic, UK, Rush, The Editors, Shinedown, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand, Tantric, 3 Doors Down, David Gray, Jack Johnson, Ani DiFranco, Interpol, Incubus, Alkaline Trio, U2 (old), Linkin Park, NWA (Really!), Faith No More, California Guitar Trio, Sting, the Police, Michael Hedges, Dido, Alice in Chains, "Chill music", Beatles, Traffic, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Big D and the Kids Table, Maroon 5, Queensryche, AC/DC, Johnny Lang, John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Albert King, Rammstein (LoL), Def Leppard (Screw you- pour some sugar on me!) Tori Amos, Fire Theft, Any Blues, Grunge, Indie, New Age.
Classical- Beethoven, Dvorák, Bach, Schubert.
Why are all the really good people dead or dying?

Movies:

Contact, All the Godfather and Alien movies. Star Wars. The Usual Suspects. Glory. Gettysburg. Glen Gary, Glen Ross, The Incredibles, Ice Age, Shrek, Tomb Raider, Koyaaniquatsi, Jimmy Bond movies (We grew up together) Fifth Element, H2G2, Anything by Akira Kurosawa (who is GOD.)Throne of Blood, Hidden Fortress, Sanjiro, Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, Dreams... Top Chef! Top Gear! Sports Night, Bullshit! I don't often get to actually watch TV- its more efficient for me to wait for it to come out on DVD, then watch it.
