About Me

Beirt (which is Irish Gaelic for "two people") began sometime in 2006 when Sasha and Kevin met at the Irish music seisiún held at the Celtic Arts Center and were shocked to finally know another young person interested in and playing traditional Irish music. Since then, Beirt has been practicing together in order to promote traditional music and to expose other young people to keep it alive and living. In September of 2007, Beirt added a new member, Adam, who is now playing second fiddle for the band. (And yes, we're aware that it's ironic because there are no longer only two people in the band. Who do you think we are?) Beirt is currently in the process of recording more tunes, as the last one they recorded was almost over a year ago. Keep listening and playing!
