For more than a decade now, DJ Pfreud is active in the electronic music movement in Montreal. It all started in the early 90’s with his radio show at Cegep St-Laurent. Soon after he resided in some of the most key clubs and spaces in Montreal’s electronic music culture, namely Sona, High Bar, SAT (Societe des arts technologiques) and Red Lite, playing in lounges and larger events, as well as performing in many underground venues. He worked at Tabou International for a while, and then migrated to Tiga’s DNA records to work as a music buyer and seller.Demonstrating versatility and technical abilities, his lively sets always make him a crowd pleaser and his talent for mixing both classics and new sounds with transparency puts everybody at ease on the dance floor. Profoundly a disco and rock amateur at a younger age, his music grooves with an edgy twist. Did I say techy? Of course his wide collection of chill-out music and down tempo rhythms offers plenty of ear candy to any welcoming listener.After promoting electronic music in eastern Canada such as Halifax, with Massive Promotion, and repeating the exercise down south in Columbia, Bogotá, Pfreud’s mixed compilation ''A yachting love story'' , in stores everywhere across Canada on Trigger records, a license of Warner Music Canada, sold out soon after he returned from his European tour. In the last few years, Pfreud studied sound engineering and is now focusing on sound design, music, and studio work.
