Azreal aka Indrid Cold/ aka The Final/ aka The CIAS Apocalypse Agent. Some of us see the truth,And some sadly don't see it, Talaam Acey does.
Influences: Im driven by the fact that the Bush Admin will soon end....Only to be replaced by another puppet? Hmmmmmmm
Sounds Like: The first round from a sniper's rifle.Anyway, What's going down people? Had to do some updating of info concerning myself, Well I started rhyming back in 1986 with my brethren Malakai and we formed a group called The Boys, Now we were a lil bit ahead of our time when it came to lyrics, Our rhymes were complex and we didnt spoon feed anyone! Later we expanded our crew to about 8 sick kats with rhymes that actually came from other groups from here and other cities, After awhile we disbanded but not because of conflicts :) Kai and myself cont to spit fire but later on I went to doing my own thing and started working with an up and coming producer named C-Peters, After making some street classics "12 Midnight, 5 minutes to Anarchy" my name began to grow around the local scene as a serious wordsmith, Along with other groups around Anderson i.e. 3 Blind Mice, Def Duo, Tyme X(R&B group) my name was growing but nothing was coming from what we were creating, While everybody wanted to try and win in the Indianapolis Black Expo and focused my attention on mastering my skill by keeping myself out of mindless contest like that where they didnt want skilled mc's but possible radio friendly rappers...which as you can tell I AM NOT. The late 80s early 90's was a downtime for me, after having no "success" with my music because the hip-hop scene changed from conscience mc's to mindless dance shit dominating the airwaves and the shallow waters...oh sorry I mean MainStream music, I grew tired of hip-hop because I started to see the abuse that the cypher speakers were being slowly drained out of any exposure they had and with them I began to grow tired so I turned my back to the bullshit, That was until a series of unfortunate events took place around my city of Anderson,IN, the death of my best friend Carlos Hampton( BrimStone: "best friend +train tracks+P.. death") and the sudden deaths of close friends( David Lynch,Marvin McCloud, Todd Gosha, Gary Anderson, Tina Davis, Areatha Prince-Jones, Tim & Brian Jones( yeah brothers) by the hands of others or health reasons(Sherika Swain) something needed to be said due to the lack of action by city officals, parents, and community leaders, I knew needed the right stage to vent my anger at those that I felt had no anger but apathy to what I saw as the beginning of the end of the westside of A-Town. One day while talking with my dude Kai he told me about a talent show that was taking place a "club" in a-town called "Sinbads", he told me every week they had combo talent getting on stage to perform for money and the top performers after so many weeks will be entered into the championship showcase, he thought I would do good in this contest even going against him even though he was killing everybody with his freestyle comedy standup act, So I decided to get with my guy C-Peters and create a music track that had been stuck in my head for awhile using a tune I heard from an old popeye cartoon featuring Alice the Goons 1st apperance( damn, I might use that again) and with a sick bassline and drum track "District 4 aka Westside" was born! The first night I performed I was nervous I wont lie to you lol! But I knew this needed to be said, Now with this rhyme I had to make my lyrics a lil more easier to understand only because I was gonna spit to people that had been drinking all night lol! As soon as my name was announced I was surprised by the love that came my way from people that knew I was gonna perform and when the track came on....mouths drop! eye's became somber, some clapped while I rhymed others just listened, and after I finished...standing ovation! Damn, that was crazy! people gave me so much love because I said what was needed to be said at that time, I called out the murderers, city officals(by name), lackluster leadership, the church, parents, I didnt give a damn, hell I lost friends over bullshit! I went on to win the whole thing and invited to perform in Indy which was cool, And from then to now with an empty space inbetween has led me to my agent standing in The CIAS/ Black Pool and connection with Purgatory Music/ Invisible Inc/ Mystery School, MidWest Mob, Kwolite and other katz i'll be spitting with, Oh well enough about my shit( dont like to expose to much of me unless it's to...her(melts in our mouths) lol! Peace people and be on the lookout for my newer deadlier shit coming to you soon. Peace!
