T.V .IS JUST A TOOL TO PACIFY THE FOOL

About Me

Rising Sun began January 2007 in New Orleans, LA , when Joe Graves and Tim Land happened to both be looking to assemble bands, and came across each others "WANTED" ads and realized that they were a winning combo. After going through 3 drummers, and 2 bass players over the course of just a few months, Tim and Joe finally came across Scott Simoneax and Mike Silvestri via chance meetings with old mutual friends. After a month of jamming, the guys realized that they finally had their dream line-up and were able to take their act to the people. Because of the tremendous amount of buzz the band had gain from a 2-song EP containing acoustic versions of "Daisy Chain" and the single "My Mistakes", the band played their very first show as headliners to a packed house. The band was an instant success and has gone on to perform as such places as New Orleans famous Tipitina's club, and the lengendary Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood.

Rising Sun's music takes a mainstream rock formulated approach to capturing the feeling of the great music that inspired them, as well as capturing the eerie vibe of the city that spawned them. With song's like "White Light", "Something to get by on", and "My Mistakes", Rising Sun has written a collection of singles and are poised to make their mark on an "in need of saving" music industry. Rising Sun are not content with being the headliner at the local music venue. These 4 guys will not slow down until they have revolutionized music, and shown this world that rock isn't dead...its just misguided.
In December 2007, drummer Scott Simeaux departed the group. He has since been replaced by New Orleans' own Josiah Bullock(Everyday Addiction, Enamor, The Bitchfots). The group is still alive and kicking as much ass as ever, and will be touring extensively throughout the country in 2008, with a possible European tour in the works. Check back for details.

Influences: The world we live in. Those that have stayed true to themselves and remained loyal to the voice inside. All artists with a relevent message and the courage to march on when no one else is around. All artists who maintain originality in a world where its all been seen and done before. Those that have the wisdom to see what is invisible, and to dance with it.
Sounds Like: Originality and blatant disregard for the outside world, soulfully paced to cold blooded rhythm and poisonous melody. Step inside.
