Typical Stereo

Hello there. The "Typical Stereo" was formed in 2005. The sound isn't easily put into one category partly due to the never alcohol soaked, "cat strangling" voice of a smoker influenced by Matthew Bellamy, Paul McCartney, Jim Morrison, Bob Dylan, and Tom Waits, and also due to the variety of favorite styles and influences of each individual member of the band. We are attempting to be successful (duh?). We have played at many bars around the New Orleans area including Hard Rock Cafe, Tipitina's, Checkpoint Charlie's, Keystones, Marlene's Place, The Bar, The Green Room, Hi Ho Lounge, Tarantula Arms, and various house parties. We are heavy enough to play in the metal bars, weird enough to play at the art joints, and light enough to play all ages shows. Typical Stereo takes form from the likes of Justin (of Torrent, Hystera, Retro Vertigo, and The Courtseymen fame), Devin (of Awful Waffle), Drew (of The Difference, The Midst, and Reason), and Darel (of Sundive, Retro Vertigo, The Midst, and Reason). It has taken years to get where we are now, and we finally have the right chemistry and the right people. Energy is in full circle now. Love to everyone who has touched the band through membership and/or support in the past and in the future. Thanks and love also be to all seven people who listen to these poor quality songs online, and in your head...and the ones at the shows.
