The band was founded in 1994 by lead guitarist Jan Heimer. First members were Dirk Prochaska (Double Bass) and Sylvio Lau (Drums). The band`s place has been Chemnitz/Saxony since that year.
From 1994 up to 1997 the band performed their shows as a Three-Men-Combo; at that time still with E-bass. They were called "The Thunderbirds".
In the early years "The Thunderbirds" got al lot of support by "Crash Cats" - guitarist Steffen Naake (in former times: "Die Teddyboys" from Chemnitz).
In 1997 the band got a new member: Mathias Arnold. He has been playing the rhythm guitar since then. Furthermore he has convinced people with his fantastic voice.
According to the band`s style the E-bass was replaced by double bass in 1997, too; a great jump towards the band`s sound of today.
When the band once played standard Rock`n`Roll they have developed their sound by now, to authentic Rock`n`Roll and Rockabilly with influences of swing and singing for several voices.
In 2000 they released their first record in where it was necessary to change the band`s name. It was renamed "Moonlight Classics". This new name also better corresponds to the changed style of music.
Suddenly the year 2004 came. It was the band`s 10th anniversary. A good ocassion to give an unforgettable birthday party for their devoted friends.
At the beginning of 2005 they released their new record together with 3 other hot bands from Chemnitz. It`s a sampler where every band presents 5 songs.We edited the profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
