New Era Orchestra

Classical new age, new age classical...

About Me

New Era Orchestra was started by me, Ethan Klein on January 12, 2007. I am currently a freshman at the Ohio State University.
So why New Era Orchestra? Well, I’ve always enjoyed music like Enya, Paul Schwartz, and Enigma. When I first came to MySpace I was introduced to a whole new array of independant musicians with music just as great and was pleased to be able to talk to them and be their friends, such as Inga, Cybo3, and Nelson Ortiz. What do all these artists have in common? Well, it’s obvious--they are New Age music, unrestricted by the formalities of rock or pop or classical.
I’ve never picked up a string instrument of my life, but I do like the classical sound of a symphonic orchestra and the music written for the various string pieces. However, I will admit that I’m currently unable to write any good orchestral music, able only to pick out a few sections that you will hear in my sample songs above.
So... I like both new age music, and the orchestra. Why not combine them? But as I have written more I’ve found myself incorporating a few other electronica elements in my pieces. A bit of trance, a bit electronica, a bit of ambiance.
I use FL Studio with Garritan Personal Orchestra to write my pieces. Eventually I hope to work with other artists in collaberative vocal pieces.)
It is not my aspirations to perform live concerts and tour the world. I can’t play the songs I write, as they really weren’t written with live performance in mind. I write because it is a hobby. I just want to share what I’ve done with the world, whether the world likes it or not.
At this moment in time I have all the songs completed for my first planned CD. I am working on polishing them up for release, and perhaps adding another track. Eventually I will release the finished CD on CDBaby and Itunes. (Thanks to friends who have offered me advice in this process already, Nelson Ortiz among them).
Take a moment to listen to browse the CG artwork on the left side of the page, below the banner links to my other favorite myspace artists. You can also scroll down and watch a short one-minute promtional video. If you would like to get in contact with me, either contact me here via message, or you can email me at [email protected]. If you have AIM you can send me an IM; I go by the screen name of BobMcBob911.
I hope you enjoy my pieces!
