About Me

I'm the quintessential artist. I've been on a remarkable spiritual journey and have discovered amazing things from ancient texts. I'm a musician, writer and artist, not necessarily in that order, it's kind of organic...I would say that the music was the primary source of my being, the blood that flows through my veins. But that seems to have changed. The past five years, due to a huge life change, the music is sort of in limbo. I am a writer.I have always been a writer. I have written poetry and journals most of my life. Until my life altering experience, I have kept much of my work in the closet. To date my most significant work is about 17th Century Salem Village, MA...my family built the House of Seven Gables and basically did a great deal of witch hanging. My research is based on Puritan Theology, Genealogy and Politics. I hope to produce a documentary from this piece. Then I did a study of Mary Magdalene and the Gnostic Gospels... I did a study on the 19th Century Paupers, the Pauper Cemetery in the town where I live...there are 298 unmarked graves..I discovered the identity of 268 of these souls... I have a publisher for this. I also wrote a book about Women and Music in the Civil War...as a Civil War Reenactor/Musician, this was important to me. All of my work has been edited, now I am learning the part about submitting and marketing my stuff....(the writing is easy compared to this!)I graduated from Goddard College and earned my MFA in Writing. (YAY!) My thesis was my memoir : "Ballad of a Sandwich Girl". After a few more revisions, it will be ready to go. It covers my earlier years, especially my life as a musician and when I was married to an abusive, controlling cop turned tuba player. It was necessary to write this so that I could return to my Gnostic Studies and Nature Writing.I have a publisher for my book, "Etched in Granite." It's about the 19th Century Paupers and a Pauper Cemetery in NH. Now that I have graduated, I must get to work.I paint just because. I wouldn't say I'm Picasso or anything, but my canvas is an outlet for endless creative expression. I prefer oils and use way too much purple. I also love to make pottery.....there is nothing like having my hands in clay.....I'm extremely connected to the earth. I appreciate Gaia, and celebrate the gifts that surround me everyday. I love the sky....at night, in the morning, whenever...there is so much endless beauty...we just need to open our eyes and be careful not to miss it.....I like to walk in the grass barefoot when it's wet........there is something very peaceful in the earth connection while doing that. I also like thunder and lightening storms...Ahhh and the ocean...it is where I am most at peace..I love my mountain, but nothing compares to the sea....I could write a book.....and I am as a matter of fact....but 'not here'! ;-)

My Interests

I loved this when it was first played in the 70's. At Plymouth State, this was played a lot on the Campus Radio Station. Lately I have been discovering and owning my Abenak Heritage thanks to a major character in the book that I am working on, based on my great grandmother. I have wanted to spend the time necessary to learn about my true Native American roots. SO MUCH IS FALLING INTO PLACE FOR ME NOW. This enlightenment was monumental in processing the passing of my father. During the days of his illness and leading to his death, I was face to face with my Native American guides and spirit. Knowing and accepting this spirit is powerful and I am only beginning to understand the depth and complexitites and how it is my foundation. It is a relief of sorts. Please listen to this. If this piece is new to you, take the time to feel it. If you remember it from back in the day...I am sure that it will inspire many feelings that may surprise you. In Love and Peace, Mj
