WHERE CAN STEM CELLS COME FROM?
Below is a list of the diseases and problems that stem cell research has an almost promising ability to fix, cure, or drastically treat,
<[i>and these are just a few]:
♥ Type 1 Diabetes
♥ Parkinson’s Disease

♥ Cancer
♥ Stroke Damage
♥ Spinal Cord Injury
♥ Heart Disease and Heart Damage
♥ Deafness
♥ Vision Impairment or Blindness
♥ Lou Gehrig's Disease
♥ Burns
♥ Infertility
♥ Birth Defects
The following are the MULTIPLE places that stem cells can be extracted from:
♥ Adult bone marrow
♥ Blood of a baby’s umbilical cord

Hello, Katie here... We're very busy fixing the site up a bit. We're looking for a new layout and trying to clean it up and make it a little more organized for you all. It's going to take some time, so please be patient! And if you have a nice layout, send us the code and we'll consider it for our profile layout for a bit! Thank you!!!

People who are willing to listen and be educated!
HOT ISSUE, MUCH?
Stem cell is a hot issue for mainly one HUGE reason...
Here is a quote from President Bush that will summarize this viewpoint:
"I believe we can find stem cells from fetuses that died a natural death. But I do not support research from aborted fetuses."
To those who agree, If I can get this point across to one non-supporter, our mission with this page will be achieved!
GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT
We fully understand the view point behind pro-life. We understand that every life should be treasured, that life to you begins at conception regardless of the circumstance. However consider the following question: How is one "pro-life" when he or she deliberatly votes against an easy technique which can save millions of lives every year?
You are fighting the wrong battle! The TRUTH is, stem cell research DOES NOT support abortions, and regardless of what society has made you think, you will not be a supporter of abortions by supporting stem cell research! In fact, there are three different ways other than the one which you disapprove to obtain these cells.
In 2001, it was estimated that there were 1,328,000 abortions in the United States. We are living in a country where abortion is legal. Right or wrong, these deaths are happening every day.
"I support stem cell research with only one exception -- research that requires killing human life," said Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. It is statements like these that have destroyed our purpose. These cells are donated from lives that were taken for other, personal reasons.
These cells are donated, not killed for.
DO YOU GET THE POINT?
Our point is this: There is a chance for millions of lives to be saved. You personally cannot bring an aborteed life back. However, after you read the truth, are you still "pro-life?" If so, how can a person who is pro-life sit and watch a paralyzed person live the rest of his days because bias has made us too stubborn to give him life?
By denying this research, you are committing your own, personal murders. These lives that you are denying are no less valuable than the live you are supposedly saving. It's a double loss here, no matter what way you look at it.
According to Wrong Diagnosis, around 15,000 deaths are expected each year from Parkinson’s disease and around 70,000 deaths are expected from diabetes. In 2003, cardiovascular diseases claimed around 911,000 lives. This is approximately 1,000,000 deaths in one year. 1,000,000 lives potentially could have been saves if more people supported stem cell research. That is equivalent to almost 3,000 lives each day and this is only a small number of the types of diseases that stem cell research can heal!
DON'T JUST SIT AROUND!
Do not sit back and watch a man leave his dream behind because his body shakes too violently for him to carry on. Do not let those who are blind miss the beauty of the world when they have to possibility to see. Do not watch as children are raised with bone marrow disease when you personally can make a difference. Do not embarrassedly turn the other way when it is time for a diabetic to inject their insulin in order to live. Do not let another life be lost!
We ask you to not stubbornly fight for the lost lives you cannot save, but to make those lost lives have meaning and fight for the lives that you can save.
All we ask of you is to SUPPORT STEM CELL RESEARCH!
BE SOMEONE'S HERO, SPREAD THE WORD AND PUT A BANNER ON YOUR PAGE!
The OwnersABOUT THE OWNERS
My name's Kate, and my older sister, Amanda, and I run this site. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last August, and I completely support stem cell research! I do believe it can help me and others, but I won't let this be an unfair battle because the President doesn't support it! We're in a battle, in which many lives are at stake, and we need to do whatever it takes to win!
Amanda is a college student who has researched heavily on the subject of stem cell research. Her main goal is to inform everyone of the real truth behind the research.
Some things you can do to help the situation are, to start off, join this site and other Stem Cell Research sites. Another thing you can do is to take a trip to your local fertilization clinic and ask whether or not they are donating destroyed and damaged eggs to stem cell research. If they are not, ask them WHY? You can also write letters to Congress. It's a way to begin, and persistence is key. Also, let your friends know about it! Spread the word!
POWER COMES IN NUMBERS!
