It all began late in the year of 1972. My parents experienced a moment of marital bliss which resulted in my birth nine months later. I spent the first third of my life in Tampa, Florida. I then ended up in Louisville, Kentucky for a brief moment and then on to many other residences throughout the state, however, I relocated back to louisville in 1997.
I was given my first drum on my 5th birthday, but did not began to study music until the age of 7. I began as a piano student of my mother and I continued through my high school band and choral programs. After high school, I formally studied music at the University of Kentucky.
I have lived in Louisville for the past eleven years where I have claimed my home base and have established a musical enterprise which has allowed me to perform and teach all over the world. I am the jazz drumset instructor at the University of Louisville and have conducted clinics, workshops and concerts throughout the Midwest and Eastern United States, South America and in numerous parts of Europe. Furthermore, I have been a performing artist and clinician for the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops for the past ten years.
As a performer I have had many opportunities to play with great musicians and groups such as Liberation Prophecy, the Harry Pickens trio, Rich Perry, James Moody, Randy Brecker, Mose Allison, Tom Harrell, Bob Mintzer, Conrad Herwig, David Hazeltine, Jim Rotundi, Jean-Michel Pilc, Mark Murphy, Slide Hampton, Jim Snidero, Joanne Brackeen, Rufus Reid, David Liebman, Ben Monder, Antonio Hart, Pat LaBarbara, Marcus Printup, Eric Alexander,Terrell Stafford, John Fedchock, Andy Lavern as well as numerous others I am for getting at the moment.
I am happily married to a girl named Tessa. We have three boys; Elliot - 8, Asher - 6 and Isaac - 4. We hope to be retired millionaires soon.
