Thomas Ostrowiecki
Acoustic, electronic, percussions, drum set, loops.
Studied with George Paczynski in the CIM school in Paris. Afterwards, he travelled to different countries to study traditionalpercussion; West Africa, Morocco, Brazil, Turkey, Egypt.
He studied Persian percussions with Magdid Khaladj. His artistic curiosity has led him to work in contexts as diverse astraditional folk musics, vocal music, rock music and improvised music. He has played or recorded with the following artists:
Sergent Garcia, Ute Lemper, Angelique Ionatos, Nouvelle Vague, Bernard Lavilliers, Angelique Kidjo, Henri Salvador, Souad Massi, Lucilla Galleazi.
Titi Robin, Suzana Baca, Monica Passos, Rolando Faria, Mariana Ramos, Teca Calazans, Baco, Zaînaba, Peter Kingsbury, Henri Dikongue, Tom Diakité, Sally Nyolo, So Kalmery, Safy Boutela (Feat. He has also worked with Philippe Eidel, Jean Philippe Rykiel, La Kumpani Zelver, les Yeux Noirs.
He produced and recorded an album “Modern Folklore†a voice/percussion duo with the american singer Ken Norris.
He also played with silent movies with the accompanist Jean-François Zygel and has participated in improvisation programmes on Radio France.
He is currently working on a project called Osteti with Macdara Smith and Phil Reptil, and also the Lucien Zerad Trio with the accordeon player Philippe Mallard.
