La guerre du feu, la recherche du temps perdu, that's what it is all about.
In life, in music.
Therefore it's rather difficult to write down the history of Psycho Stag.
Cos' each one of us was digging for fire and searching the time of his life in his own way along his own path.
History. His story. Each human being his story. And he who writes about the history of others always writes down his own history as well.
That's what the great Lakota, Sioux singer Floyd 'Red Crow' Westerman once told me in '79 in Vooruit, Gent, Belgium. I never forgot his words.
As far as I'm, the singer, concerned the seeds of Psycho Stag were sown there, these very moments. Here's to you, Kanghi Duta !
Being a spiritual, musical, fighting, never surrendering human being, that's the spirit of Psycho Stag. The stag, male raw power, female elegance, setting the animal in each of us free, not the beast cos' animals are no beasts.
Koyaanisqatsi (from the Hopi language), crazy life, life in turmoil, life disintegrating, life out of balance, a state of life that calls for another way of living, that's what makes human animals sick, turns them into psycho's. We are aware of the sickness deep inside of us and that's why we make this healing music, faith healing music, hoping however not to end like Alex 'The Faith Healer' Harvey, though how sensational his band and music was.
Some of us played in bands belonging to the early Belgian rock, trash, new-wave scene.
Not as famous as Belgian chocolates but like the chocolates they melted on the hot tongue of the fire dragon called Oblivion. The phoenixes arose from their ashes, sharpened their teeth or what's left of them and proceeded with their never ending quest.
Searching for the Grail, the ultimate song. On their way they met several Knights and together they followed the trail of blood, sweat, tears, joy, passion and dreams, cos' these are the things songs are made of.
Three youngs Knights in full bloom and shining armour, their talents flowing out of their horn of plenty but still losing in a football game against the two old, grey, one-legged, blind, deaf, dumb rock'n roll suckers!
