Profile GeneratorEach day's journey for MICHAEL DAVEY consist of leaving Waterhouse, going to be welding job at the Jamaica swop shop, then returning home again. On every trip, he never forgot to pack his love of music as he always deejayed at work, entertaining others.
Afer a while this lifestyle became tedious. He wanted to do more with himself and express his talent for all to see.
In 1989 the transition started ! Calling himself POWERMAN, he went into the studio and under the New Name Music he recorded his first song 'technicolor'.
Pleased with himself, he decided that he wanted to do it fulltime.
This determined man was born May 31,1973 and has only one sibling, a brother, who played an important role in his musical development.
He sent Powerman to music lessons but he didn t stay. Powerman then began recording on his brother's label PM Unity and did various tunes including 'Innocent Face'
In school he was an active student immersing himself in extracurricular activities as well being know as comic.
In 1991 his hanging out at the now infamous KING JAMMY's studio paid off when he was given a chance to record. The song 'STONe' was a big hit despite the fact it was not played on the radio because of its explicit lyrics.
Now everyone now POWERMAN. He has been consistent with his songs. 'Miss Kill And Bury' 1993 , 'Slim and Trim' 1995 , 'Gal ah Call Mi Name' 1997 and 'Serious Things Ah Guh Happen' 1998.
Powerman has performed internationaly in places such as Canada and the USA, the caribean in Bermuda, Antigua & St Kitts.
He has most definately performed at local shows including Reggae Sumfest 2000, Reggae Sunsplash 96, Fort Clarence Fresh, West Kingston Jamboree 2002, and Sting 91.92.96 and 2002.
His career went to another level when Supreme Promotions CEO Isaiah Laing signed him in february 2003.
Influenced by Shabba Ranks, Powerman will continue to do well and never stop keeping eyes on the prize.
