Thomas Wacker (Music) grew up with music of the Eighties and his first selfbought vinyl was Visage's “Fade To Greyâ€. So he is musically influenced by different electronic bands and artists of this era. In the beginning of the Nineties he was very much into the Gothic/EBM scene and founded therefore his own music magazine named simply BLACK in 1995. From 1995 to 2000 he was publisher and chief editor of BLACK-Magazine, then he broke up and took a little rest. He went to music school in 2003/2004 to take some lessons in arranging, recording and producing and started to build up his own home studio. There he recorded and produced a lot of tracks with different vocalists before he met singer Frank Kummer in 2005. Together with Frank he founded the project LOVERS EXILE and started to work on a fulltime-album. In early 2006 his friend Joseph came up with the idea to start recording tracks together with Torsten. This is how BOMBAY SAPHIRE was born.
Torsten Heimbuch (Vocals) grew up in a family of music lovers. His father was a drummer and his mother a choir-singer. So Torsten became a singer. He joined different school-choirs and took some classic-guitar lessons for about 1 ½ years. He sang and played the guitar and bass in different bands - for example INVITATION (Rock-Pop), DAWN PATROL (Heavy Metal), MADISON (Glam-Rock), SKUNK (Heavy-Rock) and GLOBAL IDIOCY (Grunge). He had some different studio-projects together with Joseph Paris.
Joseph Paris (Guitar) is an autodidact-guitarist. He played in a lot of different bands - for example RUNAWAY BOYS (Rockabilly/Rock ‘n Roll), CONTACT YOU (Pop) and STAND OR FALL (Pop). He played the guitar on “Where Are You†of the German synth-pop-project 16 BIT in the beginning of the Nineties which was produced by Michael Munzing and Luca Anzilotti.
