Elektradog is a solo project created by Mark from Hertfordshire, England. All songs are written and performed by Mark and recorded in his home studio in Knebworth, Hertfordshire. Elektradog was born in 2004.
A few quotes from some reviews Elektradog has received:
"It's a rare occurrence to find a purely unique band, group or solo musician but Elektradog seems to stand all alone at the top of the heap of original electronic artists." - Space Junkies
"Depeche Mode and Human League are the kings on this modern update of the electro genre." - Sohostrut
"With cold minimalist icy-pop..and the electro glam stomp of Goldfrapp" - Subba-Cultcha
"Gradually the songs reveal a lot more about Elektradog, some of the harmonies on Drive are almost unhinged and fit in the TV On The Radio scheme of alt.soul and rock" - Vanityproject
"..Need a pet? Get an Elektradog" - Cool Noise
"..electronic pop ala Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, and David Bowie (all admitted influences) is present...the music is stellar and rarely misses" - smother.net
Elektradog has a very strong electro sound..currently un-signed but once discovered Elektradog should go down well.. - Guttergliitter
Where can I buy your music, and what stores stock your CD's?
I'm still currently unsigned so you can't purchase my music in record stores. This seems to be the number one question we get asked and it's very frustrating for us as well as you. We were selling a 9 track demo CD "Elektradog" but it's completely sold out now. I hope to finish some new songs and put out a second demo CD at some point and yes, it will include "Can't Stop Dancing" and "Rated X".
As I don't have a band I won't be doing any live gigs. Because of this I'm going to concentrate on writing more songs. I'm confident that one day I will do some live dates!
Who's in the band and who does what?
Elektradog is a solo project. Mark writes, plays, sings and arranges all the tracks and Dave mixes the songs.
I use FruityLoops with lots of plugins for arranging, mixing and recording, a Yamaha 01X mixing desk/audio interface, Korg Triton synth, Baby Bottle Blue mic with a Focusrite voicemaster pro mic amp.
What comes first, music or lyrics?
It's usually a piece of music first that I've finished, then I go through my book of scribbles, notes and ideas to see if there's anything in there that fits as a suggestion of what the song could be about.
