I am a Nature Lover and a keen Recycler, I and I know that we owe it to our future generations to look after our earth and tend it lovingly instead of dumping in it. I grow herbs and vegetables and I love to make Jewellery and turn my hand to most crafts.... esp. wood! I would like to see more people 'wake up and live' and be more willing to strive, every day to treat each other and our beautiful Earth with respect and love and to hold more compassion in their hearts for the downtrodden. I love to walk in the breathtaking landscapes we have here in Sussex. Cuckmere Haven is breathtakingly beautiful and has a river that is shaped as an 'S'. 'Live' Reggae music is a must cos i love to dance. I try and see as many reggae artists perform as I can. Been listening to reggae since I and I was a small girl. I have seen Culture, The Wailers, Burning Spear, Luciano, Dennis Brown, Steel Pulse, Mighty Diamonds, Aswad, Toots and the Maytals, Black Uhuru, Morgan Heritage, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Gregory Isaacs, Third World, Freddie McGregor, Barrington Levy, Frankie Paul, Smiley Culture, Junior Mervin, Mighty Diamonds and U-Roy backed by the Dub Tonic Kru. I'd like to meet:
I would have loved to meet Robert Nesta Marley, he has been my hero (along with my Grandad and my Dad) since I was a small girl. The words that Marley used had a big effect on me and still do. Big reverence to Haile Selassie, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown and Joseph 'Culture' Hill, gone but not forgotten.
Music:
I love Bedouin Sound Clash as they have a brilliant sound going on. I like Matisyahu too and I like the fact that he sings about his culture and beliefs the way that Bob Marley did (and still does in our home) My partner used to be a reggae DJ and owns many original releases on vinyl which I listen to, ska, roots, rockers, Dancehall, Lovers, Ragga, Jungle and my most favourite is DUB. I really love Lily Allen's music at the moment, its a really fresh sound and wicked to hear some reggae in the british charts again.
Movies:
I love watching fantasy films, the Lord of the Rings trilogy I could watch in one sitting and then watch again straight away. Really really love Cheech and Chong movies and funny British films. I sometimes watch horror movies but have to be in the mood to be scared!
Television:
I dont watch any soaps really, real life is enough entertainment without watching people suffer in a soap, TOO depressing! I like to watch Ray Mears, programs on places, wildlife and people of the world. I love watching sci fi programmes like Star Trek, Red Dwarf, Torchwood and Dr Who. Documentaries on anything factual from politics to mystical enigmas! I detest everything about reality shows and think Big Brother is full of people that have serious arrested development and a very limited world view.
Books:
I read fantasy books, dont care who they are written by, i read 'em anyway. My most favourite books are the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, and 'The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant' by Stephen Donaldson. 'Magician' and the entire set of related books by Raymond E. Feist. 'Dragonlance Chronicles' and related books by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. All Terry Pratchett books, they so funny! I have read 'Catch a Fire", Bob Marley's biography many times and will read it again. I like to read history books on Britain, Africa, and Native Americans, have lots of books on these!!. I have read books on Jamaica as my Godfather lives there, hope to visit him there soon. Caribbean by James A. Michener. Lynn Andrews books on Native American experiences. Astrology, Massage, Aromatherapy, Herbal and Medicinal plants, Yoga, Reflexology, Gardening. I like to read about different religions to try and have more understanding of different peoples faiths.
