Boom Shankar

DJ Boom Shankar is Armin, a 28 year old Dj from southern Germany who got infected by the Psytrance Scene back in 1996 on magical gatherings in Switzerland.
This addiction led to the start of his Djing career two years later primarily in Switzerland and Southern Germany at this period of time.
Simultaneously he started to travel in yearly intervals to Asia where he found an even more colourful scene than back home. From this moment on, travelling and djing formed a combination still lasting and led by weird coincidences to his final artist name:
Boom Shankar
In the year 2001 he founded with friends the tribe Bruder Mond Schwester Sonne (BMSS) which can be translated into Brother Moon Sister Sun.
Meaning: “All is ONE”
The reason for this project was the lack of organizers, artists and networks from Southern Germany throwing events and moving the scene to a higher level.
Throughout the last years the southern network grew and finally reached an energetic but still commercially healthy level, keeping elements from the Goa ages and combining them with the modern Psytrance fractals.
Boom Shankar's sets are a mirror of this combination...
whether he is playing his Twilight Night or his Mystic Morning Sets; they are always affected by deepness and are filled with a high dosage of energy. Positive, but far not cheesy melodies, pumping and rolling baselines and the full spectrum of psychedelic - mind-blowing effects are compulsory elements which, together with his mixing skills, will defentately bring you to the dancefloor!
Some may call it twilight music for twilight people ;)
For him, Djing is like a mutual communication with the people on the dancefloor according to the motto “giving and receiving”. He believes that improvisation is necessary to fully understand the desires and energies of the dancers in order to reach higher levels of Trance. This belief and the resulting actions have brought his case and him to countless parties all over Germany and Switzerland and to countries like Spain, Romania, Austria, Turkey, Slovakia and all around Asia. Bookings all over Thailand as well as the organisation of some of the first known Psytrance Parties in Cambodia in the year 2002 demonstrate his favourite hemisphere.
