This is my lame ass comment box. Delete this, type what you want and click submit. Any idiot could do it. I guess that leaves out my sister, Amanda. Sorry, Manda. ;-) jk

About Me:
I’m a 25-year-old college student in Stockton, CA who, due to various injuries and personal tragedies, has had a little longer trek through my local community college than most “traditional” students. I’m okay with that, though, as if I hadn’t been matriculating at Delta College for as long as I have, I wouldn’t have encountered the wonderful people I’ve met along the way. I can honestly say, though, that of all my years at Delta, this past year has been the most rewarding. Actually, it has, quite possibly, been the greatest experience of my life to date.
This past Fall, I, along with 11 of my Freelance Writing classmates, formed The Writers’ Guild -- a club dedicated to promoting literacy through writing. Each month, we put out a FREE magazine of various written works and artwork, called ArtIFact (which is open to submission by any Delta College employee, faculty, student, or alumni [whether you’re a graduate or simply a former student is of no consequence]). My work with the Writers’ Guild, serving the community, has been a very rewarding experience in and of itself. It’s made me feel like I’m an important part of a team and have others who depend on me, which has been a significant self-esteem booster.
Another equally significant (if not more so) boost to my self-confidence and self-esteem this past year has been my participation in the Delta College Speech & Debate team. This experience has been SOOO rewarding not just because of the awards I’ve won (I’m now a REGIONAL CHAMPION SPEAKER!), but because of the team camaraderie and the independence I have garnered (I now know I can, with my family’s blessing [not that it’s at all necessary, but it’s nice to have], successfully, without complications, travel and stay in a hotel -- without my family). The confidence I have gained through my experiences this year has aided me in social situations (I now stumble over my words much less often when conversing), conquering phobias, and in running for elected office (and WINNING!) in Delta’s student government.
I look forward to another great year as I continue with my participation in the Speech & Debate team, as well as continue to serve Delta students in the Writers’ Guild, and, now, as a member of the Associated Student Body Government. If you are viewing this profile because you’re a friend of mine from Delta, be forewarned that I am a bit more… colorful… in my language (and in the photos I show) than you may have heard from me at Delta. I am a little more relaxed on my MySpace profile than I am at Delta. I have a bit of a sarcastic sense of humor at times, which is expressed on this page. I also enjoy certain music that some may find offensive. I do hope that you do not take offence at any of the vulgarities on this page, or think less of me because of it. I'm also aware that certain areas of this page are looking a little shabby. I'm currently in the midst of an overhaul of this page, so bear with me.

Interests:
Well, as I alluded to above, I emphatically enjoy my work with the Writers' Guild, serving the community, as well as traveling and competing at forensics tournaments with the Speech & Debate team.
As for my other interests? Well... (see disclaimer above) I REALLY enjoy annoying the fuck out of ignorant bigots & hypocritical morons who treat me as though I am mentally impaired. I particularly enjoy the look on their faces when they realize... yes... I DO have a brain! Now that I've got that out of the way, on to my more conventional interests. Let's see... I like Shady Records, Wrestling, making money, computers, Shady Records, writing, TiVo, computer programing, ewrestling, making money, buying (and wearing) sarcastic t-shirts, Shady Records, tormenting my older brother, tormenting my younger siblings, history, the Civil War, WWII, linguistic studies, Psychology, making money, TWIZTID ... did I forget to mention Shady Records?
Time to get TWIZTID!! Hey Jamie... I still have your shoe.

I'd like to meet:

(wait... I ALREADY HAVE!! )Hulk Hogan, Eminem, D12, 50 Cent, G-Unit, ICP, yada yada yada.

Oh... you mean on here? Anyone that's cool with me "The Way I Am" (ok, I know that's extremely lame but I couldn't resist).

Music:

Slim Shady, Dirty Dozen, 50 Cent, G-Unit, Anything on Shady Records, Heavy Metal, Alternative, TWIZTID, etc.

Movies:

8 Mile

Television:

Wrestling, Alias, 24, Lost, anything with a Shady Records artist on it.

Books:

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo - my ABSOLUTE favorite book. I love it. I haven't read any of the biographies on Em, yet, but I really want to.

Heroes:

My dad, my Opa & Oma, my Grandma on my dad's side, my crazy brother " Skizm ", Hulk Hogan, Eminem, Phillis Bednarz, Christopher Reeve, Martin Luther King Jr., FDR, Roy Gruwell for making my grandma happy in her final years, Ben Parks for doing all he did for me, Mom "No.2" (my stepmother) for taking me in when that asshole Punchy had Mom No.1's priorities mixed up, Mom "No.1" for doing a total 180 since then and listening to my venting while dad was on his latest 2 1/2 year vacation from reality, and anyone who can look at me and see me, not my disability (unfortunately, that's not that many people). I know there's people I'm forgetting. I'll add 'em as I think of them.

Maybe I need to clear something up.

The other day, a very close friend (from here on I'll call him "Forrest" for sake of anonymity) said something to me that really upset me badly. He said, You need to tell Kim to quit ranting on your...

Okay, Kara, I guess this warrants a blog post.

Myspace really needs a better method of responding to comments. I certainly was not going to respond to every comment with a blog post - that'd be a bit rediculous. However, now I think there's enou...

My portrait.

I just had my portrait drawn at Delta's Cinco de Mayo celebration. It's not 100% accurate. It makes me look Asian. I heard the artist saying he was having trouble with the eyes. My skin's a bit too da...

Just can't seem to quit procrastinating.

I don't know why I just can't get myself to do something productive. Wait, scratch that. Yeah, I do know why. I do this everytime I have a shitload to do - I shut down. Oh, well. Just gotta get o...

Trying to get motivated.

I'm sitting in the computer lab staring aimlessly at myspace. I really should be working on the fucking shitload of school work I have to do, but I'm procrastinating. Why? I'm not too sure. I just...
