As a youth growing up in Jamaica, reggae music was always around me. I was at an age where I was unable to go to the dancehalls, but always going to the church. I remember standing in my backyard listening to the music that came from the nearby dances. I recall going to the local shop and seeing the older guys by the street side competing against each other to see who was the best Dj. Everyday I stopped and listened even though I knew I would get in trouble. I got to love it more and more until I secretly decided that I was going to be like those guys or even better. Day-by-day I sat in my backyard writing songs on my own, but never completed a song until age 12. It was the events that occured during election 1986 that would inspire me to complete my first song and enter my school talent show. I won. This was the motivation along with the encouragements of my friends and relatives which gave me the positive vibes that I needed. At that time I was attending all age school. A few months later I moved on to Dint Hill Technical High School and then years later to the USA. where I attended college and achieved a degree in Computer Science. All throughout my school years I never gave up, I continued to display my efforts to fulfill my dream to become an entertainer. I got the name "General" while I was in high school. My teacher would come into the classroom saying "you are acting like you are the general of the troop". It was from then on that I was nick-named General. With my relief and my determination, my manager at that time Mark Parris felt that I was could be the "baddest one" out there, giving birth to "General Bad One". As I traveled all over, performing at reggae concerts, I realized that I was getting a calling, and it was for a different person, so I answered and started to pursue my calling, which was to be a man of God. By changing all my style of music, I decided General Bad 1 will not be my name. Because of the fact that I have been so blessed throughout my life, I gave new birth to "Mr. God Bless". I used my music to channel the positive things about my fellow brothers and sisters. My "vision" allows me to see things that other entertainers cannot begin to grasp. My style captures an energy that flows out through my performances and brings a different life to Christianity, and will win souls that others are unable to win. Attention, attention I "Mr. God Bless am here to tell you out loud that I am on a mission for Christ and nothing or no one can stop me. I will take gospel reggae music to the top of the scene!
