Rougeberry Fragrance available now at The Body Shop - see blog!
Rougeberry Artwork Charity Auction ENDED AT 2PM (gmt) ON WEDNESDAY 28 FEBRUARY.
HIV is still a major problem for today's world, with some pretty scary statistics on annual infection rates - more than half of the 5 million people infected last year were between 15 and 24! One of the best ways we can try to tackle the problem is by raising awareness.
With this in mind, The Body Shop and MTV have launched the ‘Stop HIV: Spray to Change Attitudes’ campaign to raise awareness amongst young people and support youth prevention programmes the world over, through MTV’s Staying-Alive Foundation.
MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation helps to mobilise and empower young people at grassroots level to fight HIV and AIDS. They have small projects all over the world - all initiated by people like you! If you want to read all about the great projects they run, or if you have a good idea of your own, have a look at www.staying-alive.org to find out more.
So how can you help? Well, The Body Shop has created a special "Rougeberry" fragrance which you can buy in stores across the world, and all of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Staying Alive charity. Amounts vary from country to country, but as an example, in the UK the selling price is £8, and £4.50 of that goes straight to the Staying Alive Foundation. With stores in 44 countries we can hopefully raise a lot of money!
GRANTS UPDATE
It was tough but we finally got there... after reading through, and assessing, over 700 applications from countries around the world, The Staying Alive Foundation finally made a decision as to who would be receiving 2007 Staying Alive Foundation Awards made possible by the Spray to Change Campaign.
There are 15 winners in total spanning 11 countries. They all have one thing in common - they are an incredible group of young people who are filling gaps and breaking taboos to keep their friends, families and communities safe from the devastation caused by HIV/Aids.
