About Me

Created in early April of 2005, Saille, Jacob, Shane Evans, and Bart began writing blues influenced rock, heavy on dark chord progressions. Their sound is best described as whiskey soaked outlaw rock (with a touch of blues and country), or what the band has dubbed "Grit Rock". Dragna has a style all their own. Guitar heavy chops, backed up by blues style drums and bass (witha definite punk influence), and accented by keys, trumpet, and harmonica. Every member lends his voice, either as lead or back-up, switching off from song to song. After several line-up changes, the band is currently a 6 piece, and each member's vast array of influences is distinctly noticeable from song to song - giving their music a generous variety, while keeping a common thread through it all. This is one band that will never bore you - they're very unpredictable, and have a ton of fun on stage.
REVIEWS:Dragna at Bar of Soap
These cats play some hard driving straight-up no-bullshit rock-n-roll. They are a guitar driven 4-piece (view our photo gallery for pics) that hail from Big D TX. They really seemed to get the crowd moving with their hook happy sound. What more do you need. Guitars drums and bass always does the trick in our book. These guys play alot so check their profile for show dates. When you are looking for the soundtrack to pound some beers to Dragna seems to get the job done just fine.

Dragna at the Double Wide
Remember ZZ Top's early albums such as Tres Hombres and Deguello? This was back when the Texas trio still played creepy psychedelic blues, laden with dark riffs and even darker atmosphere, before they cheesed out with "Legs" and that stupid car.
Dallas' Dragna recovers that era of unique Texas blues-rock, with heavily distorted guitar riffs that take their time and harmonica as sharp and quick as a rattlesnake. It's not so much these dudes are derivative or that they sound particularly like early Top; rather they indulge in a lost art, an old Texas tradition of being crazy and not giving a fuck. You'd best step carefully if you choose to listen to their disc Another Texas Highway Riot, because you might find yourself transported back to a time when bands like those tres hombres, along with bands like the Hickoids, had no problem mining the depths of hard-charging music, be it the screechy punk of Iggy Pop or more along the lines of Merle Haggard. This is music to drink beer to. This is music to get in a fight to. This is music that just might get you arrested. It's about time.
