About Me

Preamble: it's a deliberate choice not to add wallpaper etc, for your internet loading experience. Faster is better.Something about being at a high altitude changes your perspective. Have been to the Andes and the Himalayas, and those trips were the "high-lights" of my life. The thin air makes for astounding colours, and the peoples of both places are strikingly similar. See my photos. Am here to seek out new music, people and places, so much to explore. ********************************************************** SACRED HARP INFORMATION ********************************************************** See 'My Friends' for two links: 'Dust to Digital' has a song 'Antioch', a really good recording. The site is an awesome collection of old country, blues, gospel and jazz. 'Awake My Soul' is a fantastic DVD on the history of Sacred Harp, and there is a trailer there you can view. Australians don't get much exposure to this music, so hope this will help fill in a few musical gaps for some folk.

Here, in no particular order, are some of the musics I love. I believe that's a good indication. I sing with Australia's only regular Sacred Harp meeting, and listen to 3RRR (and Radio National). Afro-Peruvian music is special. Other loves are Dead Moon, Roky Erickson, Gun Club, Leonard Cohen, Queens of the Stone Age, Can, Jon Spencer, The Nomads(Sweden), The New York Dolls, early Sandy Denny, Bert Jansch, The Ramones, Bill Callahan (Smog), Mark Lanegan, The Young Gods, The Sisters of Mercy, early Dylan, The Sandpebbles, Black Cab, The Warlocks............
