Born in Chicago and raised in Bolivia, Fabiana Claure has pursued internationally her career as a pianist, performing extensively not only in the United States, but also in Bolivia , Cuba, and Spain. As a soloist, Claure has performed with the South Carolina Philharmonic, the College of Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfonica Iuventas, and the Valencia Youth Orchestra. She has participated in several international music festivals such as the Piccolo Spoleto International Music Festival (Charleston, South Carolina), the Iberoamerican Music Festival (Havana, Cuba), and the COFES International Music Festival (Cochabamba, Bolivia). The Cuban National Radio has broadcasted her recordings.Claure has been the winner of the First Prize in the 1993 "Franklin Anaya" Piano Competition, and the 1997 "Mus-Art" Young Pianists National Competition in Bolivia, in the 2002 Arthur Fraser Young Artists Piano Competition in Columbia, South Carolina, and Second Prize in the 2003 Southeastern Piano Competition in North Carolina. Claure has also been awarded by the College of Charleston with the 2003 and 2004 Edwin Davis Peacock Award for Excellence in Piano. As a chamber musician, Ms. Claure has recorded along with her husband, the Cuban pianist William Villaverde, a duo-piano sonata by Celius Dougherty that was released in the CD "Serenader, Songs, and a Sonata by Celius Dougherty" in 2003.
Claure began her studies with Ana Maria del Carpio and Ana Maria Canedo at the Laredo Institute in Cochabamba, Bolivia. In Havana, Cuba she graduated with honors from the National School of Music, where she studied with the Chair of the piano department, Miriam Cruz, and later with the Cuban pianist and composer Andres Alen. After one year of further study at the Higher Institute of Arts in Havana, Claure won a Full Tate Piano Scholarship to continue her studies at the College of Charleston with the Uruguayan/American pianist Enrique Graf. Claure has also received lessons from Ilana Vered, Jorge Luis Prats, Alessio Bax, Alfred Mouledous, and Leonel Morales.
After graduating Cum Laude from the College of Charleston, Claure entered the class of the renowned Spanish pianist Joaquin Achucarro under a full piano scholarship at the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Fabiana holds both a Masters of Music and an Artist Certificate degree in Piano Performance degree from SMU. Fabiana was named a recipient of the prestigious P.E.O. scholarship, a highly competitive national research fellowship for women in all fields.
Currently, Fabiana is pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance under a full scholarship at the University of Miami with American pianist and composer Dr. Floyd. She is also teaching there as graduate assistant.**************************************************

Nacida en USA, hija de padres Bolivianos, Fabiana Claure ha mantenido su trayectoria pianistica en el ambito international tocando en los Estados Unidos y en las salas mas importantes de Bolivia, Cuba, y Espana. Como solista ha tocado con la Orquesta Filarmonica de Carolina del Sur, la Orquesta del College of Charleston, y la Orquesta Sinfonica Iuventas de Madrid. Ha participado en festivales internacionales como el Piccolo Spoleto International Music Festival (Charleston-USA), el Encuentro Iberoamericano de Piano (La Habana-Cuba), y el Festival COFES ( Cochabamba-Bolivia). La radio nacional cubana ha transmitido sus grabaciones. Claure es ganadora del 2002 Arthur Fraser Piano Competition en Columbia, Carolina del Sur y del Segundo Premio en el 2003 Southeastern Piano Competition en Carolina del Norte. En el 2003 y 2004 el College of Charleston le otorgo el premio Edwin Davis Peacock por excelencia en piano. Ademas de su carrera como solista, Claure ha tocado musica de camara con su esposo el pianista cubano William Villaverde, grabando una sonata para dos pianos que se encuentra en disco "Serenader, Songs and a Sonata by Celius Dougherty" (2003).
En Bolivia, Claure Obtuvo Primer Premio en el concurso Franklin Anaya (1993) y tambien en el Primer Concurso Nacional para Jovenes Pianistas Mus Art-97 en Cochabamba.
Fabiana Claure comenzó sus estudios de piano en Bolivia y continuo sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Música, en La Habana, Cuba donde estudió con Miriam Cruz y con el pianista y compositor cubano Andres Alen. Después que graduarse con honores y completar un año de estudio en el Instituto Superior de Arte, con el Maestro Alen, Claure se gano una beca completa de piano para continuar sus estudios en el College of Charleston, Carolina del Sur, EEUU, con el pianista uruguayo Enrique Graf. Luego de graduarse con honores del College of Charleston, Claure so gano una beca completa para realizar estudios de post-grado en Southern Methodist University en Dallas, Texas donde se encuentra actualmente estudiando con el afamado pianista espanol Joaquin Achucarro. Claure recibio su Maestria de Musica y Certificado de Artista con la especialidad de Piano en SMU. Claure ha recibido clases de los maestros Jorge Luis Prats, Ilana Vered, Alessio Bax, Alfred Mouledous, y Leonel Morales.
Actualmente Fabiana se encuentra haciendo sus estudios de Doctorado en Piano con beca completa en la Universidad de Miami con el pianista y compositor estadounidense Dr. Floyd. Ademas ensena en dicha institucion como profesora asistente.
