About Me

Within the past year, this heavy-metal juggernaut has steadily been picking up momentum in the metal/hardcore underground. Through some intense shows all over Alberta with some of Canada's finest up and coming metal bands, legions of fans are being turned on to a sound that combines equal parts old-school metal ferocity and modern technical prowess. Anchored by the rhythm section of percussion mastermind Bevin Booth and bass-master Sean Zumbusch, the lock-step riffing and melodic mayhem of guitarists Chris Guthrie and Arjun Roy creating a dense atmosphere, both hook-filled and bludgeoning, the package is further magnified and completed by the vocal prowess and intense stage presence of frontman, Jason Bryan. Drawing upon influences from elements of thrash-, speed- and technical death metal as well as genres as disparate as hardcore, prog and others, fans of all sorts are finding a common ground to mosh upon.Calculating Collapse is heading into the studio to record a full-length CD in the coming months as well as putting the finishing touches on some long-awaited merchandise and planning a full scale tour for the Spring.
