ROOM

ROOM: Gavin Murphy & Tony Kavanagh

About Me

Gavin and Tony met in 1993 when Gavin worked as a session guitarist on one of Tony's recording sessions. Impressed by what he heard, Gavin asked Tony to write lyrics for music that Gavin had written for his band at the time. The first song they wrote together was "It Beats Living Alone". Both were so happy with the results of their work that they continued to write together.Little by little Tony's solo career and Gavin's band at the time were back-burnered. Within months Gavin and Tony were performing and recording together as ROOM. The 1990s saw them perform live on TV, radio as well as regular stage work. Their tracks have appeared on record company compilations and their songs have been covered by Cara, John McGeer and Woodbeez so far.The "history"of Room will unfold in our blogs. Tune in often for rivetting instalments!________________________________________________ ________________

Chapter 1: The why and wherefore

Well then.  A blog by/for Room.  I know, I know - who the hell wants to read a blog about a band that is, at best, "on hold"?  Well, call it vanity, but I loved - sorry, make that love ...
