I love being with my little family, getting to see my friends, going out on occasion. I read a lot, do art projects with my children quite often, and don't do the laundry nearly as much as I should. I'm awesome at shopping, but terrible at actually spending money(I'm a miser). I used to aspire to be a spinster, with lots of cats, and bitch about how my child never calls me. However, I got married, so that ruined my plan. :)
I'd like to meet:
Current friends, old friends, maybe some new friends, some(not all) members of my family, fans of White Lightnin' Burlesque.
Old Lovers? Meh. We'll see depending on who you are.
Music:
I like a wide range of music. Some days you can catch me listening to blues or jazz from the 20's and 30's, other days I'll be listening to 80's skate rock. I like old punk, new and newer wave, and spooky Appalachian murder ballads. Ask me to listen to it, I just might like it.
Movies:
Terrible, early 80's SciFi and fantasy(The Sword and The Sorcerer, Krull, etc). The Three L's: Labyrinth, Legend, and Ladyhawke. I love period films(go ahead, laugh) like All of the Jane Austen books to film, old and new versions. A Room with a View, Howard's End, The Cat's Meow, Bright Young Things, Little Women, The Age of Innocence, The Wings of a Dove. We do watch a lot of Children/Family films at my house, and we love Harry Potter movies, Nanny McPhee(Colin Firth, HOT, HOT), The Incredibles, etc. I also love old movies like The Red Shoes, Jean Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast, any Fred Astaire film, the original Wuthering Heights(Lawrence Olivier, HOT, HOT).
Television:
I am ADDICTED to Heroes. ADDICTED.Anthony Bourdain is my secret boyfriend, he just doesn't know it. His show on the Travel Channel is sublime.I was a Buffy girl, and I really missed it. Hex on the BBC is helping with that, but there isn't much left. Thank Goodness for Firefly on DVD, and it's counterpart movie Serenity.
Books:
I love books. I aspire to one day have a gorgeous, spooky parlour/library. I really like the classics, and SciFi/Fantasy novels. Our public bookshelves look nice, but my treasures are on shelves in my bedroom, well worn, spines broken, and quite a few are taped in spots. Those are the ones I can read over and over and never get tired of them.
Heroes:
My parents, my husband, my sweet little family, the ladies I perform with, and cocoa bean farmers. :D
