FRANCO SERENA, negli anni '60, raggiunge il successo in campo nazionale con la band "The Ranger Sound" in seguito "Ragazzi Dai Capelli Verdi", tre singoli, una compilation, ricordiamo la presenza nel film "io la conoscevo bene" del regista Pietrangeli ed il 6° posto raggiunto nel festival nazionale di Rieti della RAI.
Vent'anni dopo il gruppo ritorna alla ribalta con un Lp ed un 45 giri, presenti in una compilation statunitense di gruppi europei del periodo sixties a rappresentare l'Italia, successivamente in un altra collection americana dedicata ai gruppi italiani, poi nel '93 e '94 inclusi nella collana "Quei favolosi anni '60" pubblicata dalla Fabbri editori e diretta dal noto Red Ronnie.
Considerato tra i gruppi mitici lo troviamo citato in tutti i libri ed enciclopedie dedicate al periodo.
Conclusasi la fortunata esperienza "Beat", Franco negli anni '70 forma una band di "Pop Progressive" chiamata "Nuvole Di Paglia" di cui abbiamo testimonianza sui Cds "Live 1973" e "And them..." pubblicati negli anni '90 dalla attivissima label sanremese "Mellow records".
Nel 1982 inizia un nuovo periodo caratterizzato dalla ricerca di un sound efficace ed energico, nasce la "SERENA ROCK BAND" una band dalle molteplici espressioni che vanno dal Rock più puro passando per il blues sino ad approdare ad un raffinato Hard rock, potente e ricco di melodia.
Nel 1984 l'album omonimo, ricercato dai collezionisti di mezzo mondo, dal quale un brano viene scelto come sigla per il programma di musica di Gigi Marziali su RadioDue, seguito da un decennio di concerti ed esibizioni travolgenti fino al '94 quando viene pubblicato il Cd "Like a dream" poi molte altre apparizioni in varie compilations.
La vera forza della S.R.B., grazie alla scelta di musicisti con una capacità ed una esperienza tale da avere una sicurezza sia in studio che in palco, è sempre stata quella di avere un assieme di gruppo invidiabile, infatti della band hanno fatto parte ( oltre naturalmente a Franco Serena ) musicisti che in seguito hanno collaborato anche con artisti di altissimo livello, sia italiani che internazionali.
Ecco qualche esempio:.
RUGGERO ROBIN : suona nei primi 2 CD miliardari di Andrea Boccelli, poi con Giorgia, Giulio Capiozzo degli Area, le Orme, con ex Weather Report, Area 2, Ricky Gianco ecc. (oltre ad una sua discografia solistica).
ALEX DE ROSSO : ha fatto 2 tour nordamericani suonando con il gruppo americano " DOKKEN ", ha suonato sul CD dei VERTIGO di Joseph Williams ( TOTO ), pi.. una sua discografia privata.
PAOLO MUFFATO : uno dei fondatori del gruppo "DARK LORD" che negli anni '80, oltre ad aver pubblicato tre dischi, ed un cd nel 2005, hanno suonato come gruppo di apertura per i SAXON, i CULT e gli URIAH HEEP. Inoltre ha anche suonato assieme a IAN PAICE batterista dei DEEP PURPLE e con IAN HAUGLAND batterista degli EUROPE ecc.
DAVIDE ZANETTI : ha collaborato con altri ottimi musicisti, suonando nei dischi di Alex De Rosso e con gli Swords con i quali ha suonato come gruppo di apertura in un tour italiano di STEVE HACKETT ex chitarrista dei GENESIS.
MARCO PELLEGRINI : si forma musicalmente nella Londra degli anni settanta, poi quando torna in Italia per un lungo periodo suona spesso in locali e nelle basi militari americane, ottenendo un ottimo seguito.

The true force of the Serena Rock Band, thanks to the choice of musicians with an ability and a such experience to have an emergency is in studio that on stage, always has been that one of having together of enviable group, in fact of the band has made part (beyond naturally Franco Serena) musicians that later on they have collaborated also with artists of highest level, is Italians who international.
