Binary Impulses

About Me

I like to use analytic and minimal expressions. My experiments include various forms of counterpoint, distortion and noise, microtonality, electroacoustic improvisation, and various regional melodic and rythmic elements of the middle east and balkans. My structural themes include closed and semi-closed orbits, stochastic patterns, partitioning, decomposition and disintegration of order, self similarity and self reference and the seemingly infinite finite. I'm interested in the psychology of the "surreal flirt", religious trance (zikir), socio-pathological and autistic mindsets, hallucinations, and the aesthetics of dissonant and kitsch. For more sample pieces, improvisations and ney taksims visit my website .
