My beautiful family, global warming, going "Green", politics, ending genocide in Iraq (by the US no less... how sick is that?), Palestine, Darfur and Burma, impeaching bush, economy, all religions, poetry, writing, reading, teaching, knowledge, school, education reform, leaving smaller ecological footprints, hybrid cars, and legalizing hemp which will lead to growing economies, helping reduce famine, preventing soil erosion, among other things.

Music:
Music is my lifeline. Lyrics can resonate with an emotion that you are feeling, or bring about an awareness, make you laugh, make you cry, while the instrumental aspect of music can paint pictures in your mind. Music lives in the very soul, perhaps even IS the soul.I like most genres of music, some more than others of course. Some of my favorites are:
Jewel, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Oasis, Korn, Kitty, Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd, Queen, Doors, Beatles, Counting Crows, Pink, Dido, Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, Flaw, Godsmack, Eminem, Bone, Neko Case, Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and so many more...
Movies:
Movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. They allow you to escape your reality and be somewhere else for a little while. They not only entertain, but they can teach as well, if you look for the lesson. I like most types of movies, although I am not much of a fan of horror movies. Some of my favorites are:
The Crow, Boondock Saints, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Last Unicorn, Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Mallrats, Empire Records, Hackers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Batman Begins, Spiderman, Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings Trilogy-- live and animated, Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Bridge to Terebithia, Night at the Museum, Last Mimzy, Jay & Silent Bob movies, Finding Neverland, Merlin, Pirates of the Caribbean, What Dreams May Come, Fahrenheit 9/11, Inconvenient Truth, pretty much anything with Johnny Depp, Robin Williams, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Keanu Reeves, Will Smith, and Audrey Hepburn.
Books:
I have been an avid reader my whole life. I lived with my grandparents and my grandma was a librarian. She would bring home huge stacks of books for me. I was hooked. I still go through periods where I read a book a day for a week or two, especially with the awesome library in my new city. It's 3 stories tall full of, well, stories. I read fantasy novels most. My favorite authors of today are Christopher Paolini, Katherine Kerr, R.A. Salvatore, Raymond E. Feist, Dean Koontz, Anne Rice, Poppy Z Brite, Terry Brooks, Gregory Maguire, and Jennifer Roberson. I am also a huge fan of Mark Twain, J.R.R. Toilken, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott, George Orwell, Madeline L'Engle, and Robert A. Heinlein (wrote my all-time favorite, Stranger in a Strange Land).
Heroes:
The most important people in my life are my super-heroes. My loving, supportive, and beautiful husband, Jason. My two sweet, smart, cuddly, funny children Brandon, 6, and Jacynda, 1.
Anyone striving to make a positive difference in this mixed up world has my gratitude and support as well.
