I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm easy going, quite laid back, prone to crazy ideas like flying 9 hours each way to Seattle for the weekend just to see a gig. I've got a sly cheeky sense of humour, which I'm careful about unleashing.
I tend to be at little bit interested in lots of things rather than a hardcore follower of one thing.
I like a wide range of music/books/movies. I tend to lurk and absorb info only adding to the debate when I have something worth saying.

Music

If it has guitars in it then it is usually fine with me. I'm mainly into Industrial, Grunge and Metal. But also listen to a lot of Rock, Punk, Stonner and some Indie stuff.
I've been to over 80 gigs and 15 Festivals. Seen most - The Cooper Temple Clause 13 times, Foo Fighters 12 times and Queens of the Stone Age 11 times. See the calendar thing below for gigs I'm going too.

Travel

I've travelled all over Western Europe - Italy (3), France (6), Holland (1), Belgium (2), Austria (1), Czech Republic (2), Spain (5), Luexembourg (1), Gibraltar (4), Rep of Ireland (2), Northen Ireland (2), Scotland (3), Wales (5) and Germany (2).
Further away I have been to Seattle, Las Vegas, through Central America (Mexico, Guatemala & Belize) and around the Red Sea (Egypt and Jordan).
Most recently, I was in Egypt (see blog). Not sure where next yet, possibly Gothemburg or back to Mexico. Will try and go snow boarding next year.

Creative Writing

I like to think of my self as a bit of a writer but I'm not very good at finishing things off. I mainly do short stories but have a few ideas for novels and films scripts lurking in the back of my head.

Football

I've supported Liverpool since my dad brain washed me in early childhood. I just about remember the glory years of winning the big shiny European cup in the early 1980's. The 1986 FA cup final was one of the best ever! Almost but not quite topped by winning the champions league last year. I've seen Liverpool 4 times 2 at home and 2 away, with three wins and one defeat.
After the 1988 European championships I started following the fortunes of Gullit, Rijkaard and Van Basten, which meant that by the time we got Itallian football on TV there was only 1 team to support - AC Milan. In 2005 I saw them beat Parma at the San Siro.

American sport

I've followed American sports off and on. I kinda keep an eye out for these teams, Buffalo Bills (NFL), Buffalo Sabers (NHL), DC United (Football) and Seattle Supersonics (NBA).
