About Me

Graphic designers have a hand in almost every piece of print that is produced. This gives designers a great advantage to design and produce printed pieces which can benefit the environment. Green design is not just the act of using recycled paper. It is a way of thinking. It is the practice of considering the environment through every step of the design process; from concept to production.
For many designers, the idea of not using the many techniques which can add glitz to a printed piece can be difficult, especially when proposing this to a client. Though this may seem limiting, it invites the challenge for creative and innovative concepts which prove to be highly effective in benefiting the environment. To create environmentally sound print requires a designer with knowledge of what is involved in green design, and the desire to make a difference in reducing the environmental burdens caused by unsustainable print design.
