Cuomo! is a traveling folk/punk singer and writer based out of Brooklyn, NY. He plays folk songs like their punk songs and punk songs like their folk songs. Some say his music is political, though he would never presume to tell anyone anything, and tries at all times to know absolutely nothing. He believes that every song should be both fantastically depressing and hopelessly optimistic because in the end, what in life isn't? Cuomo! plays venues across New York City, while always enjoying the intimacy of a house show, street corner, or subway platform. He is also fond of traveling coast to coast playing all the cafes, infoshops, and basements he finds along the way.
After working as a columnist, reviewer, and interviewer for indy rock fanzine, The New Scheme, for several years he founded Urban Folk, a community magazine for acoustic songwriters in New York. Having served as editor for a year he quit to focus on traveling and music and now publishes stories about his experiences online and as a personal zine. The first issue is Subway Stories and Other Folk Tales available wherever you find him playing, and very soon on line when he finally gets his shit together and makes a webpage and store.
Cuomo! has finally found his way home to Booklyn after 8 months of aimeless wandering and quixotic touring. Despite how much he is enjoying having a roof, a bed, and some money in his pocket, he swears he will not sell out to such luxuries for long and will give it all away to run west down the interstate again soon. In the meantime Cuomo! would like it known that he makes a damn good pizza and would love to make one for you if you stop by the bar where he works (Lucky Cat) most nights after 6.
