Ever Reviled Records began in 1998 with extremely humble beginnings as a little project that Darren Deicide felt was necessary. There lacked a record label that dedicated itself to releasing counter-cultural independent music. This wasn't to be a label that was bound to a genre. This was going to be a label that gave a platform to music that challenged the mainstream with alternative points of view and alternative sounds. If pop culture was to hold it with contempt, Ever Reviled Records would hold it close to its heart. It started with 2 seven inch records, but eventually Ever Reviled Records would make a quantum leap in 2000 that would forever change the way it operated. It was proposed: why not collectivize? Why not be a living example of what an alternative can be by creating a workplace where no bosses or owners existed? It was time to put words into action! Ever Reviled went through a number of transformations, made many learning experiences, and would ultimately rest to where it is now. 6 releases later, Ever Reviled Records is one of the existing forerunners of counter-cultural music. Ever Reviled Records currently has releases with David Rovics , Darren Deicide , The Old Man and his Po Buckra , Nathan Carpenter , Give Us Barabbas , Thought Breakers , Cuomo!, and Hopeless Dregs of Humanity . Their first release was a 7-inch by Rational Solution that is now out-of-print. Ever Reviled has simultaneously destroyed boundaries of genre and bridged the gap between the underground and the mainstream. The Ever Reviled roster continues to expand and the collective continues to grow to this day, and there is no sign of stopping. As long as real music seems dead, Ever Reviled Records keeps it alive.
